Taliya's POV
I've tried to help Allison for the past twenty minutes but she's freaking out, wanting everything perfect. I suggested that black sequined shirt like five times since it's the best that her closet has to offer. I didn't know what to do so I snagged her phone and called Lydia who's coming over to help her and give me a break. Allison is so focused on finding the perfect outfit that she probably didn't even notice me calling Lydia, so maybe it'll be a surprise for her. I went downstairs to talk to Chris to pass the time, when I came down he started laughing at me.
"You thought you could handle a girl getting ready for a date?" Chris asked me, still laughing.
"Yeah, but I gave up and called for backup." I answered and he looked confused. "I called Lydia."
"Well then, what will you be doing?" Chris asked me curiously.
"Either going with you or stalking the date." I answered honestly.
"Me and a few guys are heading to try and get the blue eyed wolf to talk, you being able to hear if he's lying would be handy." Chris said, weighing the options.
Just then the doorbell rang so I went and opened the door. It was Lydia who was smirking proudly, though her smirk turned to a smile when she spotted me.
"I think I'll be heading out now, be careful out there!" Chris shouted to Allison. "I know that you know about the curfew, but I also know that you won't listen to it!"
"If I remember correctly, the reason you attended my party is because you can't stand being alone in the house." Lydia said just as Chris came around the corner with his keys in hand.
"And neither Allison nor I blame her considering we don't know the full details of what has happened to her but we know it's bad." Chris said softly. "I'm meeting with a couple hunters to see if we can think of a way to safely deal with the rabid animal going around attacking and killing people."
"In that case you are coming with us." Lydia said to me. "I've already arranged for a boy to at least pretend to be your date so that way you don't feel like a fifth wheel."
"Disgusting." I said with my face scrunched up in disgust.
"I take it you would rather date a girl then." Chris said with a chuckle.
"I guess I'll have to cancel on the boy and see if I can find a girl then." Lydia said more to herself.
"What are you guys doing tonight?" Chris asked, trying to solve the problem.
"Bowling." Lydia answered before she looked confused. "Why?"
"Because Taliya has never gone bowling before, if you include her on this date with a partner she'd probably end up really embarrassed." Chris said sadly and Lydia's head snapped to me in shock.
"Ok then, you are definitely coming because I've got to teach you how to bowl." Lydia said before inspecting my outfit that I expected to go with Chris in. "The black leather jacket suits you and so do the black jeans, but what type of shirt do you have on underneath the jacket I wonder?"
I blushed in embarrassment before I opened my jacket to show a literal rainbow covered shirt. Chris laughed, not in a mocking way but out of surprise, while Lydia hummed in acknowledgement.
"What, it's pretty." I mumbled to myself. "I like rainbows." I quickly did my jacket back up to hide my shirt from view just as Allison came down the stairs. "Allison, save me!"
I ran to her and hid behind her from the two people still chuckling at my expense. I took a second to look at Allison closer and got offended, she's wearing the shirt I suggested for her to wear but she refused every time.
"I don't know whether to be proud or offended." I commented out of surprise.
"By the way, we're taking Taliya with us." Lydia said, drawing Allison's attention to me.
"Hey, my plan was to go with Chris, he's the one that told her that I've never gone bowling, whatever that is, which made her want to bring me with you guys." I explained.
"Well then, I'm off and you three have fun." Chris said, leaving before I could move to follow him.
Before I could even think of running Allison looped her arm through mine and Lydia led us out to her car.
"I thought you said you needed my help to get Allison ready for the date?" Lydia questioned.
"To be fair, I had rejected this shirt like five times before I finally gave up." Allison answered. "She had probably already called you since she left the room."
"I called her before I left the room." I corrected her quietly. "And you were going through your closet for like the fiftieth time."
"Yeah, she called me from your phone." Lydia backed me up. "Why did you call from her phone?"
"Because I don't have your number." I answered honestly, my voice still quiet.
"Here's my phone, put your number in and send yourself a text so that way you have my number." Lydia instructed me while handing me her phone.
I instead handed both mine and Lydia's to Allison since I don't know how to do that yet. Allison took the phones and put Lydia's number in my phone and my number in Lydia's phone before handing them back to their respective owners. The drive lasted another five minutes before we pulled up to a big building with quite a few cars outside of it. As soon as we stepped out of the car loud music could be heard from inside the building causing Allison to look at me and me to flinch from the volume of the music. Lydia grabbed hold of my sleeve, since she's seen how I hold Allison's sleeve instead of her hand or arm, and Allison's hand, and dragged us inside excitedly. Lydia looked around a bit before dragging us through a group of people causing me to lock eyes with Allison quickly, who reached her free hand over and grabbed hold of my free hand reassuringly. I gave her a small smile in thanks before we released as Lydia released her hold on us.
"I made Taliya come because apparently she's never gone bowling before." Lydia announced to Wolfy and Jackson.
"I don't even know what bowling is." I clarified from where I was standing.
"How is that possible?" Jackson asked, alarmed.
"Not a good home life until I was adopted by Chris just over a month ago." I answered, causing Jackson to look down slightly.
"Well then, let us be the first to show you what bowling is." Jackson said, looking back up with a new look in his eyes, a sense of understanding if I'm correct.
"Woah, I figured you'd say no." Wolfy said surprised.
"I do have a heart you know, plus I think that even with no previous experience she'd be better competition than you." Jackson said in response.
The first round I just observed as wolfy failed miserably the first couple throws until Allison went up and whispered in his ear, I didn't listen and judging by wolfy's reaction I'm glad I didn't. I watched how they threw the ball down the lane, I watched their forms and everything, how they spun the ball and whatnot.
"How about you throw for me?" Lydia suggested but I shook my head. "You're gonna pull off a strike and I know it, you're memorizing our forms and I know you can mimic them perfectly like when we danced together at my party."
"Fine, I'll try, but please don't blame me if I fail." I asked and she just gave me a gentle smile.
We walked up and Lydia handed me her ball and I was already mimicking wolfy's form from after Allison whispered in his ear. I walked up and threw the ball the same exact way as him and got the same end result, all the things at the end were knocked down.
"See, I told you that you'd get a strike." Lydia said while clapping proudly. "You've got a unique skill of copying movements from others."
"No wonder you were able to pick up on the self defense lessons Dad has been giving you so quickly." Allison said, shocked. "You just memorized and mimicked his movements."
"That's something I've always been able to do, even when I was a little kid." I answered. "I don't have clear memories from before the one of my family burning in the fire when I was three, but I know I've always been able to memorize and mimic the things I see around me."
