Missy rushed into her second hour class which was math, making it in just as the bell rang. She smiled as she looked around for a seat. A well manicured hand shot into the air and waved frantically, gaining her attention. Missy grinned, and with a relieved roll of her eyes, she pranced over to the seat Lydia saved for her. As she sat down, she looked over at the girl sitting next to in front of her, diagonal to Lydia. The girl was gorgeous, with dark hair perfectly curled and cheekbones and a jawline that would make Angelina Jolie weep in jealousy. It appeared Missy had interrupted a conversation between Lydia and the gorgeous brunette.
Missy furrowed her eyebrows at Lydia with a small smile, confused with her best friends actions. Lydia didn't usually interact with people she didn't already know. To others it seemed like if you weren't Jackson or Missy, Lydia Martin deemed you unworthy of her time.
Lydia rolled her eyes as she already knew what Missy was thinking. "Missy, this is Allison, she just moved here from San Francisco. She's cool and has killer style, don't you think?" Missy nodded as Lydia continued. "She just became our new best friend."
Missy grinned at the new girl, who allowed a bashful smile to crease her perfect face. "I hear you're a cheerleader? That's...uh, really nice..." Allison awkwardly looked around, not really knowing what to say. She knew girls like Missy in her old school, perfect blonde cheerleaders with perfect grades. Had Allison knew that while she was feeling overwhelmed by Missy's apparent perfectness, Missy was doing the same, she probably wouldn't have felt so terrified of the small blonde.
"I am, and it's okay." Missy replied with a small shrug. "Extracurriculars like that look awesome on college apps, and the outfit and status ensures I can get a date whenever I need one. Which is the biggest bonus."
Missy shot Allison a sly wink as the new girl giggled, relief flooding her body as she realized that the blonde was nothing like a stereotypical cheerleader. Lydia however scoffed. "Since when do you go out on dates? I can't even remember the last time you hung out with someone besides me, your siblings, or those two buffoons."
Blushing, Missy sent Allison a guilty smile, "She's right, I don't date. But! I could if I wanted to!"
Allison laughed, as the teacher finally walked in to class, calling for order. The three girls continued whispering conversations about boys, clothes, and whether they thought vampire movies were cringey.

By the time lunch rolled around, Missy was starving. Lydia, having witnessed her best friend get the detention applauded her negotiating abilities, but made sure Missy knew she was still disappointed they couldn't eat together.
Missy dropped her bag off at her locker and searched for her lunch box. Panic seized her chest when she tore through her locker and her school bag to realize she didn't have it.
She then realized that in her hurry to take pictures with Lydia, she skipped the last thing on her to do list for the morning: Make lunches for Lyn and herself.
