Missy stared at Isaac, eyes wide and mouth open in shock as they both tried to process what she said. "Please just forget that. It's the concussion."

Isaac nodded, trying to keep away the smile that was trying to force it's way onto his lips. "Maybe we should get you home."

Missy groaned. "Are you sure? There should be some Missy sized graves here. I could have a new home."

Isaac laughed, a small soft laugh that warmed Missy's heart. "Sure, if you like sleeping with worms and decaying corpses."

"You got a dark sense of humor Lahey. I like it." Missy said as she started to stand. Isaac's hands automatically reached out to help her, and she took them, leaning on the boy while she waited for the world to stop tilting.

Isaac's heart was pounding, as Missy gripped his shirt, her dazed head leaning on his chest. His hands rested on her arms, steadying her as she found her grounding. His face flushed, as he tried not to panic. A girl had never been this close to him, a girl had never touched him like this before.

Missy finally let go of the poor boy, feeling steady and ready to go home. "You don't have to walk me home. I can get there by myself."

Isaac shrugged. "I'd feel better if I knew for sure, that you made it home."

Missy gazed at the boy, lips turning up as she shook her head. "Okay, Lahey. Walk me home."

And so the two kids walked home, both with their hands stuffed in their pockets, the light from the street lamps, making their small, shy smiles and quick glances feel like a euphoric dream.

Missy stopped in front of her house, Isaac following her lead. "Thank you. For walking me home."

"Anytime."

Missy looked around, not sure what to do next. A nervous giggle bubbled out of her throat. "I'll see you at school?"

Isaac nodded. "Yeah, 'course."

Missy turned and started walking to her door, looking over shoulder to call to the boy. "Goodnight Isaac."

"Goodnight Artemis."

The next week was filled with Artemis's lame attempts to avoid Stiles and Scott. Missy knew that the boys were probably very confused by her constant use of the bathroom. She was hoping they would think that she was hydrated, and not suffering from IBS or something unflattering.

By the time Friday came around, Missy was excited. Lydia was having a party, and she always had the best parties. They were never busted by the cops, had plenty of alcohol, and was filled to the brim with cute boys for Missy to flirt with.

For the first time ever, Missy was glad that Scott and Stiles were never cool enough to get an invite. She didn't have to worry about seeing them there. Her night would be easy.
