6:10. Another day, another forceful entry into his only friend's apartment. This was incredibly common, and Jon managed to deduce that Felicia wakes up on time only once in fifteen days. Her apartment only had three rooms: the living room/kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom, Same as his apartment (since they lived right next to each other).
He entered the bedroom and swiftly took away the blanket that protected the catwoman from the chilly air of autumn. "Wake up, we'll be late." Her bedroom was completely different from his. It was plagued with posters from a generic boy band, a cross and posters with inspirational messages. Lying on top of the nightstand was a photo of Felicia's late mother. She turned to face the nightstand, groaning and asking for five more minutes. "I'll make you a sandwich, just get ready for school." He exits the bedroom and heads to the kitchen.
He wasn't the best at cooking, but he can at least keep himself alive, and, with countless times having to enter the catwoman's apartment to avoid making her the most tardy student in the school, he's gotten slowly but surely better at it. He placed two slices of white bread inside the toaster, pressed down, poured olive oil on the pan and placed two slices of ham. He reached into her fridge and pulled out mayonnaise, mustard, a slice of cheese and lettuce. He washed the leafy vegetable, and finished just as the toast jumped out of the toaster. He grabbed the toast, spread mayonnaise on it with a butter knife, stacked all of the ingredients on it, and sealed everything with a piece of toast with mustard spread on one of the sides.
6:22. He grabbed a plate and placed the sandwich on top. He couldn't help but admire the sandwich with a smile on his face. "She'll love it." He whispered to himself as Felicia groggily stepped out of her bedroom. "Ready to head out?" "Yeah, yeah... just-" she yawned as she stretched her arms and legs. Her sailor uniform was a bit wrinkly, and her hair was a bit messy, but, at the end of the day, who cares? "Honestly Jon, I have no idea how you manage to wake up so early." She picked up her backpack, and the wolf-like boy headed out of the apartment. He waited for a few seconds, and she stepped out of her home with the sandwich. He picked her up, placed her on his shoulder, and sprinted out of the apartment building.
Jon had no trouble carrying her and running at full speed. In fact, she was the one that asked if he could carry her on his shoulder so she could eat whatever he made in her kitchen in under 10 minutes easily. Just a few more minutes until they've reached Makai Academy. His grades were average, with the only subject were he shined was in P.E., while she was nearly an exemplary student, only requiring a bit of help in math. He wondered why did she reached out to him in order to become his friend. Was it an act of generosity? Or was there something she wanted out of him? He really didn't see anything inside of him that would be worthy of anyone's attention. He couldn't be more grateful about having someone as her as his friend.
When Jon and Felicia reached the high school, she had already finished her sandwich and was fully awake. Just to make sure, he launched her into the air. She comically spun around in the air before landing on all fours as he checked the time on his watch. 6:30, they arrived 30 minutes early. He liked arriving early, he had the opportunity of clearing his mind and get ready for the day ahead of him before all of his noisy classmates arrived.
"Welp, see you later, Jon!" She waved to him, already running inside of the three story building. He stared at her, and pulled his schedule out of his backpack. Ugh, History class with Mr. Anakaris. His voice was so deep he could barely pay attention to whatever thing he was teaching about. Was this week's subject World War II, or was it the Industrial Revolution? He couldn't remember, but he knew he could scrape by. A few more students arrived, and he decided it was time to head to class.
