We sat in awkward silence so I turned the radio on. I didn't know where we were going. He didn't tell me. Suddenly one thing snapped to my mind.

"What happened to your girlfriend? Chase told me you were dating some chick in our school." I said trying to sound casual.

"Oh her? We broke up yesterday." He said, sounding like he wanted to sound strong.

"What happened?" I asked.

"She cheated on me," corey said through his gritted teeth.

"Oh I'm sor-" I started but he cut me off.

"Its fine." He said quickly. I nodded slowly. "So...where are we going?" I asked.

I saw a smile playing on Corey's lips. "You'll love it," was all he said and turned the radio on.

Its been a long day, without you my friend,
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again.

We've come a long way from where we began,
Oh I'll tell you all about it when I see---

Corey quickly turned the radio and I turned to him, confusion all over my face.

"This was the song on my grandpa's funeral..." He muttered.

"Oh I'm so sorry I didn't know" I said, eyes focused on my lap.

"Its fine you didn't know," he said and I nodded.

When we arrived, I hopped out of the car and looked around. No way. We were on a farm!

"Corey....are we going horse riding???" I squealed.

"Yeah we are," he said smiling.

I jumped into his arms and then quickly pulled away embarrassed. He looked at me with a smile and I blushed. Great.

"Sorry..." I muttered. He grabbed my hand and started walking towards the stables.

We walked in and I ran up to the first horse I could see.

"Can I ride that one? Pweaseeee," I whined, and Corey nodded, laughing.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

The ride was amazing as well as the view. We rode for almost 2 hours and I really enjoyed it. My mom used to take me horse riding when I was little, but not anymore. I miss those times. My mom would rent 3 horses for 3 hours and we would all go rodinb together. Dad would always Falk off and mom would always laugh. But no matter what, we stayed together. Like a family. A family, which I don't have at the moment. I mean yeah I know I live with the Preston's, but they will never replace my family. Never.

"Ellie? Are you alright? Why are you crying?" Corey questioned as I quickly wiped my tears away.

"Sorry I just..." I couldn't finish my sentence as I heard a horn beep. I turned my head. It all happened in slow motion.

I saw the red car. Corey was shouting my name...to move away. But I didn't. My legs were numb. I couldn't move. And then blackness over took me.

-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-

Corey's P.O.V.

"Ellie!!! Move out the way!" I shouted.

She didn't move.

I tried to push her but it was too late. Do you ever have those moments where everything is in slow motion? And you think its a dream? Well yeah this was it.

*an hour later*

"Annie Preston?" A doctor stepped out from a room.

" Yes that's me" mom spoke up.

"Ellie Parker...she's..." He started.

"She's okay right?" Mom asked.

"She's in a coma."
