The Red Haired Pirates

There's gonna be a few time skips in this chapter as it is basically just him getting comfortable with his surrounding, people and understanding what he wants to do.

Noir Pov

They were noisy no matter what I did. They wouldn't leave me alone, they party all the time, I try to hide from them, they always send Ben to find me and he always does, bringing me back to wherever they were on the ship I can't take it.

"Oi lad where are you this time" a yell came from behind me it wasn't Ben I couldn't tell who it was so I continued to hide making sure all my legs where hidden with me 'why can't they just leave me alone' these people are different from the ones I've met before they don't beat me or tie me up, make me work till I can no longer feel my legs.

"Ah there you are lad" a red head of hair peeks over the barrels and scoops me up quicker then I could comprehend I was off the floor in the air staring down at this bold man, I froze "come on little man you need to stop hiding down here." I did not reply, still too stunned that it wasn't Ben that found me but Shanks, the last person on this ship I wanted to see.

Shanks continues to carry me above deck from the storage room 'why does he keep doing this I don't like it he's too loud' my thoughts start to race I wanted to scream and run away back to the dark storage room, but I couldn't if I did I'm afraid this mans nice act will slip and he'll end up being just like my previous master.

"Ben I found the little guy he was in the same place in the storage room" Shank announces as he steps out of the storage room's door onto the deck blinding me as we exited the harsh sunlight making it impossible to get my bearings which is causing a feeling of panic to set in. "Let me go" I mumble, not quite having the courage to speak any louder 'there all the same if I yell they'll beat me' I couldn't help but think because I've never seen any human behave differently.

"Huh... what did you say little guy you're gonna need to speak louder" Shanks exclaims clearly not hearing me his loud tone next to my ear startled me even more so I curled my legs up and buried my face in them hoping that it would make the loud redhead go away.

"Captain I think you made it worse here give him to me" a familiar deep voice stats clearly done with this man child antics, " awwww but Ben I never get to hold the little guy for long" the man child starts to pout seeing this man pouting almost made me laugh, but I can't it's all a ploy in the end that's how humans are.

I couldn't dwell on this for long as Ben took me from his Captain and started to walk away from him towards a quiet corner of the ship. Once he reaches it Ben sits down putting me on his lap "hey Kid you know we're not going to hurt you right?" As always Ben would say this but I couldn't trust his word to spread to more than him.

"I know you won't hurt me but I can't trust that others won't" I whispered back to him for the first time in a long time, I had talked to anyone I don't know what it is about this man but I felt comfortable around him as if I knew he wouldn't hurt me.

It was silent for a little while after I spoke I felt him take a deep breath exhaling with a slight chuckle, "you got me there kid I can't make promises for things I have no control over, but I can guarantee that I can keep pests away from you." He said this with so much confidence I had no choice but to believe him though he didn't seem to be finished with what he wanted to say, "The Captain can also do this for you. I know he's loud and childish, but he can make sure the crew stay in line!"

This leads me to ponder 'does that red haired man really have this much power' I couldn't fathom it that man was irresponsible there's no way he can make what Ben said come true. I wanted to believe Ben as he had not done anything mean to me so far *sigh* "Fine I'll trust you Ben" I whisper out not really wanting to say anything else I just kept my eyes down.

"That's a great step forward kid" he said as a big smile filled his face. I couldn't help but stare. His smile filled me with a warmth I've never experienced till now. 'Why am I feeling this way? What is this feeling?' I had to find out maybe these people who started this feeling can answer my questions.

*Time skip*

I have been trying to understand what that feeling was. I liked it, it was warm and bubbly. I couldn't place it so I tried my hardest to do what Ben had said to trust him and to get closer to his Captain although the second part of that sentence is not going well.

"Hey kid what are you doing"

Like now when this loud man decides to approach me out of nowhere picking me up in the process 'I hate this' my thoughts sour more. How can anyone put up with this man?

"Captain, if you keep picking him up like that he'll never talk to you." Finally the voice of reason comes to save me. Ben wanders over to us probably realising I'm too scared to move an inch or say anything to indicate I'm uncomfortable.

"WHAT!!!" The red headed man screams as if he had been shot. His shout hurts my ears, as I cover them to try and stop the ringing that had started due to the sudden shout. "Keep your voice down Captain, do you want to make the kid deaf" Ben continues at the man while gently grabbing me out of this manic's arms putting me down, taking this chance I hide behind Ben as to stay out of the other reach, "Ben... I don't think I can trust him, he's scary" I whisper hoping he could hear me.

To my horror both of the men heard me although barely, my words seemed to cause different reactions, one of sheer disappointment and the other of surprise. I didn't really understand what was going on. I hope they don't hurt me.

"The first time he spoke near me is to say he's scared of me" Shanks mumbled to himself almost like couldn't believe what had just happened. This confused me even more. I didn't want him to hear me but his reaction seemed dramatic. All I did was whisper to Ben as I hid from the man.

"This is what you get Captain" a voice shouts out from the crowd that had grown after seeing the man's reaction as they were giggling to themselves.

Somehow there laughing didn't make me feel anxious, it felt warm. 'I wonder if I could laugh like this too one day?'
