"You turned the page. I burned the book."
Jaws were fallen and eyes were widened, "Are you by any chance datin-""MOM!" Jungkook loudly whispered, "LIKE I SAID, NO."
Jungkook's father side-eyed him, a father who didn't care what his son did but suddenly got interested in the current scenario. It was something new. Carrying his friend in his arms? Not willing to wake her up?
Understandable you and Jungkook were childhood friends but this kind of casual intimacy? Umm, there was something fishy.
"I'm gonna go upstairs." Jungkook doesn't meet his dad's eyes instead walk towards the stairs until an envelope forwards in front of him. "This came from Y/n's college. Take this along with you," Jungkook's mom said, suspiciously eyeing him as Jungkook nodded, "Y-yeah." Looking at how his mom is staring at him with her curious eyes.
He simply decides to feign ignorance. Takes the envelope and walks upstairs to your room without glancing back even once. This air was heavy, couldn't bare to stay any longer. On top of it, they were too invested in his life.
One of many reasons why he couldn't open up to them about doing the job. It just took a lot of energy and he did not have that now.
"What do you think?" Jungkook's mom raises her brows as she watches Jungkook leave, "Something is going on, right?" She asks folding her arms against her chest as Jungkook's father slips off his glasses, adding his thoughts, "I thought he had that chemistry with someone else."
"I know right." Jungkook's mom totally agrees, "But I feel an intense power here." She intensifies her mind to solve the puzzle that just appeared in her mind. Jungkook's father tilts his head with a sigh, shaking his head, "I hope he's not playing with hearts."
Jungkook's mom comes to sit in front of him. Hands on knees, "No," Her voice is stern, "I'm worried about him. It's quite the opposite for me. I hope he's not the one being played, he's very sensitive to you know it."
Jungkook's father agrees, wipes his glasses with a cloth and meets his wife's eyes after, "You are talking about his eighth-grade incident right?" Jungkook's mom presses her lips tight,
"How can I forget that incident, he didn't speak to us for whole three days, locked himself in his room, only ate eggs, bananas and milk for a month and started working out."
"Yeah, because he thought we lied to him." Jungkook's father disappointedly nods, "And it was just because we stated that he was good-looking whereas his classmates called him fatty back then."
"My boy struggled so much." Jungkook's mom couldn't help but pity him, Jungkook seemed perfect but to reach that perfection he had suffered. It would just take him one big breakdown to lose it all again and that was what scared his mom the most. If there was a possibility of that happening.
