I stared at her. "Where am I?" I asked looking around the unfamiliar room.

"In my bedroom ." she smiled.

"Why?" I asked brining my gaze back to her.

"Because Corbin brought you home and told me to take care of you..... He wouldn't tell me what happened." She looked at me with pain in her eyes.

" Mallory don't worry about me. I'm fine. Can we go get ice cream?" I slid out of bed never taking my eyes off of her.

" It's dark out Emma." She shyed away.

" Mallory. It's okay. I'll keep you safe, and besides. I'm buying ." I smiled grabbing my sweat shirt.

" Okay, but only because your cute" she winked.

Holy shit.....did she... Did she just flirt with me?! My face turned a bright red.

"Why are you blushing." She teased.

" Because.... I have feelings for you." I smiled.

We stopped at the park to eat our ice cream. The park was lit up by the basket ball court. We sat at the closest picnic table to the court.

" Are you almost done? I don't mean to be rude, I just don't like being outside at night ." she shifted in her seat.

" Yeah. C'mon." We discarded the empty ice cream cups and made our way to the little trail leading us home. We stopped at the end of the trail waiting to cross the road. I could see the house from here. All of the sudden I feel strong arms crush me in a death grip. A gag was put in my mouth to cease my loud but useless cries for help. I kicked and flailed my arms, but it was no use. The gag was removed from my mouth just to be replaced by a rag forcing me to breath in. The last thing I remember seeing is Mallorys tear stained face as she too slumped to the ground.

I woke up in a small yet spacey room. I tried to move only to feel straps around my wrists and ankles. My head was throbbing. I turned my head to the side letting my eyes adjust to the dully lit room.

"Mallory?" I whispered into the dark. No answer. I started kicking and pulling trying to get out of the straps. No use. The door opened.

Someone walked in flicking the light on. I closed my eyes trying to sheild myself from the light. It wasn't helping my migraine.

"Hello Emma." He said in a raspy voice. "Do you remember me?" He chuckled.

My body froze in fear. It couldn't be. He was dead. I shuttered in fear.

"You better not hurt her. Kaleb. I swear to god. If you hurt her so help me." I said through gritted teeth.

" You swear to god? Hmmm. I never seen you as the religious type. Anyway. Did you miss me." He smirked.

" why would I miss you. I fucking hate you. You killed my parents. Raped and strangled my best friend. So what now! Am I next?" I felt my chest tighten.

"No Mallory is." He chuckled turning the light off and slamming the door.

I slammed my head down feeling helpless. I couldn't save my family. I couldn't save my best friend. I can't save Mallory from him. Tears leaked from my eyes. This can't be happening. Not again. Not after all this time.
