First kiss; a jesslake fanfic

Jesse:

I accidentally woke up at about 2:00 AM feeling very drowsy, I stood up and noticed that Lake wasn't in their bed, I went downstairs and they weren't there either. There was only one other place they could be.

I made my way out the front door and walked down to the Lake where they were comfortably seated next to a big rock. I slowly sat down with my legs up, and greeted them.

"What are you doing here?" I asked quietly "it's so late"

Lake looked away, I could tell they were uncomfortable. They sighed as we sat in silence for a few minutes. I was enjoying the scenery, it really was a beautiful night.

"I'm so sorry" Lake said "I'm sorry for bringing you into the whole mess with the flecks, I know that was a lot" they said.

"Lake, don't worry about any of that, I'm just happy that we're both off the train... Together" I blushed and looked down.

"Yeah..." Lake said "it's really nice to be with you, not having to worry about the train craziness."

"It's fun to just get to... Hang out"
Lake smiled and placed her hand on mine. I looked over and blushed. I didn't say anything, but this was one of the happiest moments of my life.

"It's a beautiful night isn't, I almost don't wanna go inside" I said looking at the beautiful Lake and the starry sky. I took deep breaths experiencing the crisp fall air. Lake looked at me again and blushed, it didn't look like they we're smiling, but I could tell they were happy anyway.

"Lake, there's something I want to tell you, but I don't know if it's obvious or not.." I said abruptly, this was it, I was going to confess my feelings to Lake, this was a big deal.

"Lake, ever since we met on the train, I've had a thing for you" I confessed "I like you" ❤️

Lake looked at me with a veryy surprised expression, like they had just heard the biggest news in the world!

"I like you too" they said "I've liked you for a long time now..."

I looked at them and smiled, we sat in silence for a few seconds after that, it wasn't an embarrassing silence though, it felt very comfortable somehow.

Lake stood up, "we should probably go inside" they brought up.

I stood up and looked at them, we were still holding hands.

"Lake, can I kiss you?" I asked, it was very abrupt, but I know I would regret it if I didn't ask then. It was the perfect moment for our first kiss!

Lake looked at me very surprised and flustered. They nodded and smiled.

I slowly went in for a kiss, keeping my eyes closed, our lips touched and stayed there for a few seconds, though the interaction was short, it felt amazing, the moment was very special. It wasn't my first kiss, but it was my most important one.

After the kiss Lake looked at me with their eyes lighting up. "Thank you" they said, "thanks for that"
I smiled as we held hands and walked inside.
