"Talk to me Gadget." Amelia said to her RIO in her backseat, Aaron Barlow. He'd been her RIO for ten years now at most. They'd learnt to understand each other and their behaviour patterns. "You have a turn there Avalanche try to avoid hitting trees." Aaron said as he looked over the radios and looked out to see anything. There wasn't anything other than their fellow pilots and WSO/RIOssoaced apart doing flight tests etc. It was going fine until they got to the turn, she took it rather sharply and he heard a thud come off the canopy and a groan of pain. "Hey Avalanche, are you doing good there?" Aaron asked concerned as she would rarely actually do anything in her side of the cockpit that hurt her. He'd been fine as he was strapped in as tightly as he could and well sort of for Amelia, so she could do her job properly in her straps. Amelia said through gritted teeth feeling the pain in her head "Yeah just whacked my head off the canopy, shit!" She moved one of her hands and lifted it away and saw some blood from the blunt force. Aaron didn't even wait for her to ask him, quickly contacting ground control requesting to return to base and explained what happened. Usually Amelia would've been angry at him but she couldn't fly if blood was coming out of her head. It was an hour before they returned because of distance and her having to be careful not to crash even if Aaron had taken over some of the flight. When they landed they were quick to get themselves out of the plane and on the ground and the second she took her helmet off there was blood smeared in its wake and on its inside. The pressure that had been on the cut being removed. They quickly walked to the on-base medical bay and she was forced really to sit on the medical examination table, while the blood just poured down her face while the nurse tried to stop it enough to get a look at it. Pilot and RIO talked to distract her from the pain while her husband,Tom Kazansky stood at the door in shock for a second.
