The Blind God

Sophia had made a most grave mistake. She unknowingly emanated an entity made of matter just from the power of her thought and desire to create something on her own. The Lion-headed serpent fell out of her as soon as this thought crossed her mind, and with him fell much of her power and that part of her that was the Soul. Now, this is not her soul he stole, but rather the Soul. For you see, Sophia was that aspect of me that represents both Wisdom and the Soul. Because this evil entity did not steal Wisdom from his mother, he looked around the abyss and declared again, "I am God. There are no other gods before me."

In her haste to hide her mistake and pity for the creature, Sophia created for him a place in the Chaos, that dark abyss of material matter which is far removed from the Pleroma.  My abode and that of my Aeons were hidden from this material realm by the Veil, an impenetrable shield that separated the Spiritual and Material realms.  And when his mother made this place for him, he drew himself there, immediately establishing a Kingdom for himself to rule.

Sophia meant to keep her transgression hidden, but the Father/Mother- that Aeon above, known as Barbelo who is the womb from which All came, had seen these events transpire

Sophia meant to keep her transgression hidden, but the Father/Mother- that Aeon above, known as Barbelo who is the womb from which All came, had seen these events transpire. Barbelo watched the child of Sophia roam here and there in the Kingdom, almost as if he was checking twice then thrice to ensure he was alone. Again he declared, "I am God. There are no other gods before me."

Hearing this Barbelo spoke, "You are wrong, Samael (god of the blind)."

When Samael, who is also called Yaldoboath, heard the heavenly voice of Barbelo, he shook with fear. 'From where did this voice come from?' he thought. 'I am the only one. There is only me.'

He said this because he was indeed blind- ignorant to the existence of the realms above and the Aeons of the Pleroma.  Ignorant of me- the ALL Invisible and Unknowable Spirit, the First Principle from which All comes into existence.

Yaldaboath said to himself, "I will create helpers for myself, to worship and glorify me, for I am the One True God, and I exist to be worshipped and praised."  He said these things in ignorance and vanity but most importantly because he feared the voice of Barbelo.  He was wary of this unknown power he could not comprehend and thought creating lesser ones similar to him would ensure a victory against any hostility from such an enemy.

And so Yaldaboath created Twelve Authorities to help him rule his Kingdom.  He took part of his Light and Power which he stole from his mother, Sophia, and divided it among them.

Each of these Twelve Authorities, known as the Archons, represented Yaldaboath's imperfect versions of the Aeons above and Matter in the world below

Each of these Twelve Authorities, known as the Archons, represented Yaldaboath's imperfect versions of the Aeons above and Matter in the world below.  They included manifestations of the things you see in your world today such as goodness, forethought, divinity, jealousy, kingdom, lordship, and understanding.  The Twelve Archons were twisted theriomorphic entities, much like their creator, but lesser in power.  And when the Twelve came into being Yaldaboath said to them, "I am God, there are no other gods before me."  The Twelve Archons praised and worshipped Yaldaboath, the Chief Archon.

"Praise be unto the Most High!" they blasphemed in their ignorance and corrupted nature.  "Glory be to the Lord of lords!  May his Kingdom have no end!"  The Twelve Authorities then set to work with Yaldaboath, the Evil Demiurge that was the creator of the material universe, to create the Twelve Powers they each represented.  They made angels of all kinds, first the seraphim and cherubim thrones at the highest, then the Virtuous Powers in the middle, and finally the archangels. All these creations worshipped and praised the Chief Archon, Yaldaboath.

Yaldaboath was pleased with his creation and so he said, "The Universe is no longer Chaos, for I have created Order

Yaldaboath was pleased with his creation and so he said, "The Universe is no longer Chaos, for I have created Order.  And I will now create Evil, for the Good I have created must be balanced in order to sustain the Universe."  He said these things for he was ignorant of the Balance in the realms above, the concept of divine masculine and feminine and Consent.  Yaldaboath then created Evil, a force that was both spiritual and physical, for everything that was, is and will be.  This was his perverse attempt to fashion order.

And when he finished bringing this balance of Good and Evil into existence, Yaldaboath said, "I am the Perfect Artisan and the Balance that brings Order to Chaos

And when he finished bringing this balance of Good and Evil into existence, Yaldaboath said, "I am the Perfect Artisan and the Balance that brings Order to Chaos.  The Alpha and the Omega. I am God.  There are no other gods before me."

"You are wrong, Samael," Barbelo replied once again.
