I wake up with a start, check my condition, since Friday I've been having the same dream over and over again, a nightmare that's been haunting me for three days I feel so exhausted I feel like the man I'm dreaming about is real and he's not going to leave until he's killed me.

I turn off the alarm clock and look at the time - it's 7.30 a.m. I sigh, remembering that today is my last day at this cursed high school. With the little energy I have left, I get up and go to the bathroom to get ready. Once ready, I grab my things and head downstairs to the kitchen. Apple or pear? The choice is quickly made a good donut, I grab a chocolate one and sit down on a stool, I notice there's a note on the table, I take it:

"I've got to go and tidy things up at the store, after class come and give me a hand".

I sigh, she's asking too much of me after our parents' death, my big sister has withdrawn into herself and lost her taste for life, sometimes I get the impression that she's not alive, she's just a wandering soul roaming this world.

I pick up my phone and look at the time when suddenly I get a notification on Instagram.

"Alice Stone wants to send you a message."

Before I open the notification, I hear a honk, I put down my gsm and head for the window, I glance outside it's Nick my pretend mate waving me out, I rush to the door, grab my bag and get out, I close the door and head for his car. I get in the car and Czech the idiot, I know why he hangs out with me at one time we were friends but not anymore now he hangs out with me just to win back my sister, he's trying to get close to her to win her back through me but it's failed, I won't let a jerk like him get close to her.

- Hey buddy, you okay or what?

- Yep.

- Your sister's not here?

- No, she's not.

- Too bad, so shall we go?

I'll buy it, buckle up and go to hell.

Ester School 8:30 a.m.

Here we are, Nick parks his car, we get out and enter the high school, hardly arrived in the hall that two young boys tumble down the stairs, they get up and start to fight. Nick rushes in and separates them with the help of his mates, one of whom was his little brother Brad and the other, I see, was his best friend. Nick's shock at seeing his little brother fight is a first for anyone, I've never seen him lift a finger to anyone, especially his friend.

- Alex?

- Hi, Nick.

Nick glances at Alex, then at his little brother Brad.

- What are you guys playing at? Brad? What's your game?

Brad looks away to avoid his big brother's rage. Nick approaches him and grabs him by the collar, forcing him to answer.

- Answer me when I talk to you!

Brad turns to me, as if hoping for a reaction from me, but I don't move, it's not my place to get involved in their family problems. He notices I'm not coming to him for help, so he turns back to his brother and loosens his grip.

- Ask him

He points at Alex, Nick then turns back to him. Alex is about to say something, but Brad interrupts.

- Your sister ran away, she didn't want to have anything to do with a family like yours.

- Brad.

- These are his words, he said Alice ran away because we were a toxic family and he started insulting her.
