"So... eyecandy?" Maya asked me from across Jacks big bed.
I sighed. "I know want you want." The thing that bothered me was that not only Maya was looking curious; Jack looked at me with his eyebrows raised, like he was expecting something.
Maya streched out her thin body on the bed and yawned. "Then why not tell me? Or us, seeing that Jack apparently wants to know too." Jack nodded at this. "See? So why not tell us all the juicy details about the eyecandy."
"His name is Max," I murmured. They looked at me.
"Go on," Jack said after a while. I took a sip from my chai tea with sugar. No, let me correct that. Sugar with chai tea.
"What do you think happened?" I said into my tea.
Maya looked mischievous and spun one long, black hair strand around her finger. Her big, grey eyes looked at me, but the question were directed at Jack. "Well, he looked like he was capable of some good stuff, if you know what I mean?"
Jack snorted. "I thought he looked completely normal."
Except the fact that he was a nyshe, and a little too handsome for my heart, yes.
"Bitch, please," Maya said, opened her bag and took out some nailpolish. I couldn't help but feel jealous when I saw her long, perfect nails - even her nails were perfect and they completed her supermodel-look, while I was short and had a babyface. At least I was the one with the boobs. "You saw the way he dressed all in black? I've noticed that guys with dark hair and dark clothes are the sexy ones. And the sexy ones always knows their way around a girl's body."
I contained a giggle and I saw that Jack, too, was looking amused. "And what about brown-haired guys?" he asked, and pointed at his light brown hair.
She thought about it for a while. "You want me to be kind or honest?"
"Okay, nevermind then," he sighed, took the nailpolish from her and started painting her toenails like it was the most natural thing in the world. And it probably was for him.
"I think that hanging around with us had made you a little gay," I giggled.
"I agree," Maya said but looked satisfied. "But don't try to escape now, Dee - what happened?"
I placed the empty cup on Jacks night table and looked at them. My two closest friends, sitting close to each other and waiting for me to spill the beans like usual. And I knew that was what I was going to do, like always, but I didn't know why I hadn't already. I cleared my throat and began with;
"You know my dream? The one with the mirrors?"
Jack nodded and Maya said; "How couldn't we? Audrey, you've had that dreams since like, forever." Jack finished painting her toenails and she wiggled her toes satisfied in front of my face. "Perfect like always, my dear gay-friend."
I sighed. "Do you want to hear or not?" Jack, who had opened his mouth to protest against him being gay, closed his mouth fast. Maya looked innocent and nodded.
"Well... It turns out that the heart in my dream belonged to him. Plus I saw him for the first time yesterday, before we met at the library, in my dream."
"Creepy shit," Jack murmured.
"Plus he's a nyche. And he seems to think that I'm one too," I added a little reluctantly and pulled up the blanket around me so I didn't have to look at them while admitting that maybe I was something abnormal. Even though it was many years ago since the nyshe's had appeared, they were still being looked at like something wrong and many people were afraid of them because of their powers. And I was no exception.
