- Theme: You are the younger sister of Victoria
- TW: Cancer
You are sitting in a bright room, looking at the blank white walls around you. On your cell phone you look at an old picture of your family. Nothing unusual really, but a picture like this with these people will never exist again. Your twin sister Maliyah had been diagnosed with leukemia four times in the past since she was two. Three times she won the fight against the cancer, the fourth time when she was nine changed everything. She lost the battle. And a year later your mother died of cancer when you were ten. Now seven years later, you're sitting there in this room waiting for the answer to the question you've been asking yourself for a while. For weeks you have not been feeling well. After fatigue, headaches, dizziness, loss of appetite, hematomas and nosebleeds, you realized what your body was trying to tell you. Even though you were sure that the leukemia diagnosis was not far away and you knew the whole procedure. You hoped that you were imagining all this. It must be so. Even if you don't want to admit it, you are very afraid. You couldn't be alone anymore. But your dad was traveling somewhere on business, Nika was in France, that leaves only Victoria. When you told her yesterday that you were going to the doctor, she already offered to come with you. But you didn't want to be a burden and keep her from rehearsing. In your helplessness you called Victoria.
V: Hi, how was the doctor's appointment?
Y: Vic I I can't do this....
V: Sunshine, what happened?
Y: I didn't tell you everything yesterday, I think I have leukemia. I haven't had the discussion of the results yet but I'm scared. Can you come?
V: Of course my little one, I'll be with you in fifteen minutes okay. Do you want to stay on the phone that long?
You heard the sounds of Victoria frantically rushing around the studio talking to her band mates. How she went outside, a car door opened and the engine started running. After about ten minutes, the engine stopped and the car door can be heard again. From street noises to a sliding door and many strange voices.
Y: Little girl, are you still there?
D: Yes
Y: What floor are you on?
D: Floor 5, room 310
Y: Sure, I'll be right there....
The call ended and your room door opened. Victoria rushed into your room and immediately hugged you before pushing the chair to your bed and sitting down. "Why didn't you talk to me before, you didn't have to do this on your own?" You had to hold back your tears, "I didn't want you to worry. After Maliyah and Mom died, everything had finally settled down and felt normal again." Victoria took you in her arms, "Oh (y/n), I know it's hard but we are a family and we stick together. I want you to know that and no matter what the outcome is we do this together." Your head rested on Victoria's chest. She stroked the hair from your forehead as you recovered from the tears. You were glad to have Victoria by your side.
An unknown voice brings you back from your thoughts "Mrs De Angelis, please come with me." You stood up without reacting and followed the person into a consulting room, Victoria behind you. The doctor is already waiting for you, "Hello I'm Dr. Sherbaz, you are?" "Victoria, Victoria de Angelis, (y/n's) older sister." " Nice to meet you, feel free to take a seat. Good to be by your sister's side" You sit down on the two chairs at the table opposite the doctor and hold your hands under the table. Your hands are cold and sweaty. "So, I have the results of the tests. The blood & bone marrow results were clear. (Y/n), I'm sorry, your suspicion was confirmed. " The doctor looked at you with a sighing look and gave you some time to realize. Victoria immediately took you in her arms and tears ran down both your faces. The fear you had been carrying around for days became real. The ground under your feet was pulled away. You just wanted to get out and scream, but Victoria held you with a tight grip and tried to calm you both down. After a few minutes Victoria looked to Dr. Sherbaz, "What's going to happen next?" "First we need to do two more detailed exams, then we'll discuss therapy."
