Leah's POV
The team leaders announced that we would be having a cleaning competition.
And although I do want to help the nature, there is a small problem.
I'm in the same team as Mason. Ever since the argument we had about his cheating girlfriend Iris, the tension has been in the air. It's overwhelming.
Atleast I have Liam with me.
I planned on sticking close to him, while also collecting the trash, but Sky had other plans for me.
-"Hey, Leah?"
-"Yeah?"
-"Listen.."
She pulled me aside.
-"I need you to do me a favor."
I raised an eyebrow.
-"What kind of favor?"
-"I need you to make sure everyone behaves, while I..do something."
-"What something exactly?"
-"My girlfriend Bailey came to visit me...but..."
-"But?"
-"I can't leave you guys alone in the forest. Atleast not according to the rules. But I think you're old enough to take care of yourselves and plus it's daylight so."
I crossed my arms and sighed. She was right. We were old enough not to be babysitted. I was obviously gonna do it for her. She has been nothing but a great leader to us. Leaving us alone once won't hurt.
-"Of course."
She thanked me and started walking in the direction leading out of the forest. I was hoping she wouldn't take long since I don't know how long I can keep the team distracted.
-"So.."- a voice behind me spoke.-" if this isn't great material for blackmail."
I immediately recognized whose voice it was.
-"What do you want Mason?"
He smirked.
-"I want you to do something for me."
I rolled my eyes.
-"And why would I do that?"
-"Because I'll tell on Sky. And she'll think you're the snitch."
A normal person would think he was bluffing. But no. Not me. I knew him well. I knew he would do as he claims. So i had no other choice.
-"What is it you want?"
-"I want you to cover for me while I go see Iris."
I laughed right in his face.
-"You're such a fool. But sure. Go ahead Romeo."
His smirk quickly faded away.
-"You're so annoying, you know that right?"
-"You're the one to talk."
He started rubbing the back of his neck, then just started walking away.
-"Weirdo."- I said.
I walked back to the group. I saw Liam and decided I should talk to him.
-"Hey, Liam."
-"Oh, hey."
-"How's it going?"
-"Nothing pretty much."
-"Okay let me rephraze this better. How's it going with Kiara?"
He smiled.
-"I don't know. Actually...nothing."
