Conflict of Interests | ReaderxNatasha Romanoff

Chapter 1

I sat in my seat at the senete hearing. The hearing for Natasha Romanoff. After the destruction of S.H.I.E.L.D and a good amount of DC. I coached Natasha through the hearing a few days ago. We were friends, pretty good friends I'd say. I had helped Natasha and Captain Rogers a bit over the last few weeks, with the whole Nick Fury death and Bucky Barns and HYDRA being S.H.I.E.L.D thing. Anyway, I looked over at Natasha who was sitting up front, she was so beautiful, oh and maybe I forgot to mention that I like Natasha, a lot. Cameras flashed in my face. I was sitting next to Senator Maggie Davis, my best friend. "Do you solemnly swear to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth?" The balif asked. 

"I do," Natasha said. "Why haven't we yet heard from Captain Rogers?" Senator Richards asked.

"I don't know what there is left for him to say. I think the wreck in the middle of the Potomac made his point fairly eloquently," Nat said I sighed, we did not at all practice that, she was going off script. 

"Well, he could explain how this country is expected to maintain its national security now that he and you have laid waste to our intelligence apparatus," Richards said. 

"HYDRA was selling you lies, not intelligence," Natasha said. 

"Many of which you seemed to have had a personal hand in telling," Richards said. 

"Agent, you should know that there are some on this committee who feel, given your service record, both for this country and against it, that you belong in a penitentiary. Not mouthing off on Capitol Hill," Senator Jenkins said. 

"You're not going to put me in a prison. You're not going to put any of us in a prison. You know why?" Natasha asked. She shouldn't have said that. 

"Do enlighten us," Jenkins said. 

"Because you need us." I sighed again, she was right, but she really didn't need to say that. "Yes, the world is a vulnerable place, and yes, we help make it that way. But we're also the ones best qualified to defend it. So, if you want to arrest me, arrest me. You'll know where to find me." Nat got up and walked away. She fucked everything up. The reporters and cameras followed Natasha out. I stood up. 

"I need to be excused, I will be back momentarily," I said. I got up and ran to the lobby. I didn't know where to find Natasha, she had definitely gotten away from the reporters and cameras. I stalked around the lobby for a few minutes then ran into my office. Natasha was standing in there. "Thank god Natasha," I sighed, "You still have time to save whatever you just did, just go back and apologize and it'll be good." 

"I'm not going to do that y/n," Nat said. 

"Natasha please, Probation is out the door right now, you're going to face jail time no matter w-"

 "Y/N they can kiss my ass," Nat said interrupting me, "Look, I could care less about that, like I said they need me," Natasha continued but I ignored her and was caught inside my own mind. Kiss her repeated over and over again in my head. My eyes were fixated on her lips kiss her, kiss her, kiss her. Nat stopped talking. "Y/N?" She said, "Y/N?" fuck it! I thought. I leaned in and kissed Natasha. She didn't break away she kissed me back. She backed me into a wall and slipped her tongue into my mouth. I moaned into her mouth. I could stay like this forever, Natasha moved her hands down my body. Then she broke away. I looked at her and she looked at me, I wanted her so badly. We stared at each other for a while then Natasha walked out of my office. Without a word she just left. I wanted to run after her but I couldn't. I fucked up tears rushed to my eyes but I quickly pulled myself together and went back to the rest of the Senate. "Nice of you to join us, Senator Hall," Senator Jenkins said. 

"Fuck off Jenkins," I said. Maggie turned, 

"What really happened?" She whispered. 

"I kissed her and she ran away," I said. 

"Really?" she asked. I nodded trying not to show too much emotion. 

"Oh, I'm so sorry," I blinked back tears. 

After that, I didn't see Natasha again.
