Dog Bites

Chapter 14: Kano's Feelings.

Clary ran to the Villa, Lilly was in the garden with the dogs when he saw her, he slowed down since he knew everything is fine, but when he stepped in he froze the moment he saw them kissing, he kind of turned blue.

Rita opened her eyes and saw him, she realized that they actually were still kissing and he's still lifting her up, her face turned red and she told him to put her down.

kano looked back and saw Clary in that position.

kano: (with his usual cold tone) why did you come? I told you to stay with mother.

Clary then shook his head and stepped forward.

Clary: She insisted that I follow you sir, and the guards are around the house, she's safe. Dear God! Miss Rita are you okay?

Rita: (trying to get away from Kano's arms in vain) Yes I am, (looked at Kano and whispered) hey put me down!

Kano: (he held her and carried her) your body is still shaking and you were barely able to stand up minutes ago, so no. Clary take Lilly and the dogs in your car.

Clary: Okay sir, but both of you need to rest si...

kano: take care of Lilly and mother i'll be back later.

Clary: (while taking Lilly and the dogs) okay.

He went out while Kano took Rita to the car.

Rita: (still trying to push him so that he lets her go) told you I can walk!

Kano: We're already here, let's talk on the way!

He put her on the front seat next to him, fastened her seat belt and started driving. They were both quiet for a while, Rita was thinking about what happened minutes ago, how he kissed her out of nowhere, and how she allowed him to, felt his lips and heat. Also the incident with both of the masked men. It was after she calmed down a bit that she felt her hand and neck hurting, she looked at her hands and they were covered with blood, she was so confused, so tired, but also somehow relieved.

Kano was driving but looking at her secretly, drowning in her thoughts. After some minutes he stopped the car in a corniche road, it was empty at that hour of the night. He carried her out and put her on one of the public seats next to the beach then he started talking.

Kano: you need some fresh air, do you feel better? Does it hurt a lot?

Rita: ( She was surprised that he's talking with such a warm worried voice, not letting her go and being this close to his body, then she shook her head) that's not what we're supposed to talk about now, isn't it? It's not the fresh air that I need either!

Kano: I know that you have a lot of questions but I need to make sure you're OK first...

Rita: Em not OK Kano!! Em, not OK! How did you even do that? How could you leave that way? I was still happy on my first happy birthday ever and you just left without a word as if I didn't exist! It was all about the contract, wasn't it? I don't even have the right to blame you no? I agreed from the start to take care of Lilly if you go and that's it? You didn't...

Kano: I know that you're angry and hurt but you don't wanna say that after what happened a while ago no?

Rita: (she remembered their kiss a while ago and she turned red, didn't say a word since a while then continued) why did you leave like that?

Kano: (sighed then smiled sadly) I got you involved deeper than I thought.

Rita: what do you mean? What does that have to do with me? You left to protect Lilly.
