Dog Bites

Final Chapter: Peace.

It was a Sunday morning, she opened her eyes when the sunlight went in between the curtains; she looked around her, her head was on Kano's chest while his arms around her and he was sleeping peacefully.

She put her hand gently on his face and smiled "What a sight...I feel soo happy, so complete...I don't even know how this happened but em so grateful it did. What's even better is, no more guns, no more running away or being terrified that he may be dead from a moment to another...He can finally let his guard down and rest now."

Kano- (Before opening his eyes) Someone is having a deep silent conversation early in the morning...

Rita- (Took her hand away) You and your third eye again every time! 🙄

Kano- (Kissed her) Good morning Rockhead.

Rita- Okay you know how to shut me up...😂

Kano- No I don't wanna shut you up, I wanna hear all your deep thoughts, silly jokes and annoying nagging every single day.

Rita- (Blushed) That was good I give you that.

The door knocked, it was Lidea...

Lidea- Come on love birds breakfast is ready, we need to go later.

Kano- Ah yes mom we're coming. Let's take a shower and have breakfast with them Rocky.

Rita- Where are we going?

Kano- You'll know later, let's go now.

They went out of the room after some time and the four of them sat along with Lilly around the table and started eating.

Lidea- Seems like you got some good quality sleep, look at those glowing faces! 😊

Kano- (He smiled at Rita who blushed immediately, then looked at Lidea gently and gave her a sign to stop making her shy) mom...

Lidea- I mean, look at both of you seriously, two weeks ago you had pale faces, injuries, worries and an unknown scary future full of shooting and running from a place to another...

Kano- Here we go with the same lecture we've been hearing every morning. 🤦‍

Lidea- I'm actually pointing out a good thing! I'm so proud of how you managed to pull yourselves together and go over this. I'm proud of how smart and mature my son is to be able to snatch his fate from his father's hands, which I failed to do and also proud of you Rita for being such a tough and supportive partner, you never backed down and I know that you got his back all the time, we were his reason to not to die, you were the reason he wanna live for! I'm so happy he got you out of all the women out there, that I probably wouldn't get along with in the first place 😋. I'm not worried anymore about you two, I can just live my life with Clary or what's left in it 🥰.

Clary- (Blushed and cleared his throat and Rita giggled)

Kano- (after a moment of silence he smiled) Ok you're right. Guess I'm fine with the lecture after all. (Whispered to Rita) I just made it longer 🤦‍.

Rita- (Smiled as well) Yeah em fine with it too.

After they finished eating, washing dishes and getting ready, they went in the cars. Rita was with Kano and the dogs while Clary and Lilly in the other car.

She was trying to stay quiet and not ask as much as she can, turned on the music, talked to the dogs, kept on watching the roads from the window...until she saw a sign on one of them.

Rita- Wait this is the way to the Village?

Kano- Yes, I talked to your mom and they're expecting us today.
