"Good morning, Mr. Marston, how are you?"
"I'm good, Ms. MacFarlane, how are you?"
"I'm well. Are you ready to head into town?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Good. I'll let you drive. I figured a mighty outlaw like yourself wouldn't want to be seen being driven by a woman." She joked.
John laughed, "If you say so Miss."
"Where're your friends?" She asked as she followed John to climb up onto the driver's bench of the wagon, releasing the parking brake.
"They're saddling up their horses at the stable. Arthur said he'd be riding close to us. We're going to see the Sheriff when we're there so he's going to tether my horse to the wagon."
"Oh, okay." Bonnie nodded.
"Here they come." John nodded towards the familiar horses.
"Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan. How are you?" Bonnie greeted.
"We're well, Ms. MacFarlane, how are you?"
"Never better! Just about to go into town for some supplies. I suppose I got me a driver for the day." She smiled.
"That you sure do..." Minnie mumbled to herself, disgusted at John's behavior as it seemed like he didn't take Arthur's advice.
"Want me to tether your horse to the wagon or one of us pony it?" Arthur asked, holding up the reins to his horse.
"Whatever you want to do is fine by me."
Arthur nodded, dismounting his horse to lead John's to the back of the wagon, tying the lead to a clasp on the back before mounting his horse, which was far different than his mare Dahlia, which was now a retired and happy "pasture pet" as she was only ridden by Isaac as Arthur trusted the mare as much as he did his own wife. Now having to start over by relying on a horse, he was provided with a bay roan gelding that was afraid of a rope whereas Minnie was provided with a palomino gelding that didn't take too kindly to the word "woah".
"We'll follow behind." Arthur assured them before the wagon jolted to a roll.
"You're lookin' much better, considering you were almost buzzard food a few days ago." Bonnie commented.
"I have you to thank for that, Miss."
"So do tell me, have you needlessly risked your life since we last spoke?"
"No, Miss, I have not. I may tend to find trouble quickly, but not within the hours of last night and this morning." John chuckled.
"Well, that's a relief. Perhaps there's hope for ya yet!"
"I wouldn't bet on it."
"Oh, there's always hope, Mr. Marston. You can't be a rancher in this kind of country if you don't believe in that."
"An admirable attitude, Miss."
"I suppose so. Mrs. Morgan actually helped me overcome that a few years ago, if I'm being honest."
"Is that so?"
