4 | You're my Comfort

Iris dashes inside the school, thinking. "Alright so.. if I was a teenager who just got in a fight, where would I go.." It took her a few seconds, but then it finally hits her. "Ah! Got it! Nurse's office!" And so she quickly makes her way to the nurse's office, but on the way there she passes by some faint sobbing. "I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry please I don't know what happened I'm sorry..!" Complete with sniffles in between. "Hold on a minute.. could that be Lumi? I mean she was crying earlier when she ran.." Iris thinks to herself. "I need to go check." She goes inside the bathroom and sees Lumi tucked in a corner. "Lumi! You're here!" Iris runs up to her and gives her a hug. "I-Iris! Please stay away-! I'll just hurt you, you've seen it happen.." Lumi spoke, while pushing away from Iris, and facing the other way. "What are you talking about? It's okay! I'm okay! You haven't hurt me!" "That's the THING, I haven't but who knows when I will??? I can't risk hurting you." Lumi continues to cry. "I know you won't hurt me. You've held back all this time haven't you? With Yuna?" Iris takes a step closer to Lumi and hugs her even tighter, like the world was ending. Lumi doesn't hug her back, but stays in the comfort of her hugs. "I- I really don't know.. I don't wanna hurt any of my friends.. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry for today." Lumi couldn't hold it in anymore, and she begins to cry her eyes out again. Iris gently starts to stroke Lumi's hair and they sit on the floor of the bathroom. "Shh, it's okay, it's okay. I'm here." "Thank you." Lumi mutters. "It's alright. Anything to keep you okay." Iris says with a bright smile. "This is why I love you." Lumi thinks to herself while admiring Iris' shining smile with tears in her eyes.
