Chapter 1- One Missed Call

Emily's POV-

Thud Thud! Foot steps pounded on the floor. I pulled my covers over my head and turned off my iPhone.

Creeeeak.

The door knob slowly turned and my door opened. Then it slammed shut.

Ring! Ring!

My iPhone began to go off.

I pressed answer and whispered into the phone so the mysterious person in the room couldn't hear me.

"Hello?" I asked because it was an unknown number.

All I heard was heavy breathing.

" Who is this?"

" It's death calling."

The voice sounded close so I quickly hung up. Suddenly, my iPhone buzzed. It was a text.

" I told you my name. This is Death."

AHHHHH!!! AHHHHH!! I heard a high pitched scream. My throat began to itch and hurt. I realized that the scream had been my own shreak.

" Honey, are you alright?"

I woke up and realized it was just a dream.

" I could hear you screaming from down the hall..." My mom told me

" It was just a dream." I said

" Oh. Ok. Your iPhone was going off all night and all I could see was the light from it that lit up the whole room."

" Huh?"

I felt nervous and un-easy to check my iPhone because of that dream.

As soon as my mom left I took a bee-line to my dresser and turned on my phone.

I dragged the screen down.

24 missed texts from my best friend

And 1 missed call from unknown

Unknown?

I tapped the screen to check the number.

Instead of displaying the number of unknown, it showed an exact address. 546 Linkyn Avenue.

I quickly typed it in on Google Earth. It showed a picture of a pay phone labeled 546. Great. Just great. Unknown was calling on a pay phone so there was no way to know who they were.

I went down stairs and brushed my hair and put it in a messy bun.

" Breakfast."

My mom shouted.

I walked to the kitchen. Toast, bacon, omelet, and orange juice, freshly squeezed orange juice.

My older brother took a piece of my bacon and snickered before handing me my plate.

I took the plate to my room and placed it on my dresser.

Ring! Ring! Ugh, this is probably unknown calling again.
