Chapter 2-526 Linkyn Avenue

Emily's POV- It was 6:30 exactly and I can't even start to explain how hard my heart is beating right now. I could feel it pounding the life out of my chest.

Knock! Knock!

I nearly had a heart attack my heart was pumping blood so fast I thought it was going to explode.

I opened the door and there was my extremely happy looking best friend standing there wearing striped sweat pants, an Avenged Sevenfold shirt, and carrying an ax in one hand and a rapid-fire pistol in the other.

" Woah, woah, woah. Back it up a little bit. You can't bring those in my house."

" Relax. They're just fake." August replied.

" Then why did you even bother bringing them?"

" To scare the living chiz out of the prank callers."

" Wait.. If they called me more than once, then they must have my number."

" Maybe they just wrote it down when they called the first time. Relax, you're just another victim. Stop being so scared. They never hurt you, so they probably never will."

" But we're putting ourselves out there once we leave." I sighed

" But they won't even know who we are, or what we look like. Stop with the buts Emily."

" Ok... You can't blame me when we don't come home tonight."

" Don't come home tonight? Are you crazy? Ofcourse we will come home tonight! We'll just hang around that payphone for 10-15 minutes. Or until I sense some suspicious activity."

" Ok then."

" Wait. What times have you been getting these calls?"

I paused. That was actually a good idea. What is my best friend? A detective?

" Actually, I don't know. I'll check my iPhone."

I took my iPhone and scrolled down.

" I got one at like 8 this morning. And one last night at 10 maybe. It doesn't give exact times."

" Ok lovely, we'll go at 9:30 around then so we can find the crazies."

I smiled. Although on the inside, I honestly didn't like her ideas.

" You can just put your 'weapons' down over there. I guess we have enough time to hang out and watch some horror movies."

She looked at me with a mocking look.

" Or we could plan out our journey so we aren't killed tonight."

" Are you serious?"

" About what part." August snickered

" The killed part."

She laughed for the millionth time. What is this!? Some kind of a joke to her!? If we actually do get killed, then it's her own plain fault!

" No. But we should plan out our routes so we know exactly where to go so incase this person or person(s) is a danger to us, or just you we know an escape route."

I rolled my eyes when she said "Or just you..."

" What? I ain't gotten no creepy phone calls!"

" Ok. Fair," I said folding my arms.

",but I don't really know my way around the phone booth."

" Yea, but I do. Don't forget I used to be part of the criminalous gang, "The Ally Catz." with a Z instead of an s. We were always prowling them streets at night."

" Yea, uh huh, ok sure you were."

" Ok fine. I wasn't in a gang. But my dad works at the coffee shop right infront of the pay phone. He's 523 Linkyn Avenue."

" That's a lot better." I smiled

" Yea. I used to walk there every night to work my second shift. I had one in the morning as a waitress and another one at night as a waitress."

I laughed at that. YES!! FINALLY!! Cha ching yayah. I finally could laugh at something. One point for Emily.

" You were a waitress!?"

" Yea," She said with a blank look on her face.

",and I absolutely hated it. I had to wear a pink apron. And oh yea, white shoes that smelt soooo bad."

" I feel so bad for you." I smiled jumping onto the couch.

" Ok. So we know our way around the place. Or at least I know my way around the place."

I nodded.

" Are you hungry?" I asked sounding bored with her almost lifeless tone.

" Yea, a little. Why? We can go to the coffee shop right now right by the payphone."

On the outside I was shaking my head in an understanding way, on the inside, my heart was beating out of time.

" Ok. When should we head out?" I said staring out the window.

" I guess now."

I grabbed my coat off the coat rack and headed out the door with an energetic August on my heel.

" C'mon let's take the short cut."

I wondered what that short cut might be.

" The short cut?"
