I rushed from my closet to my one suitcase trying to cram everything that I thought I might need in. I was exhausted I'd barely slept last night and I could see bags forming under my eyes. My eyes flickered to the clock and I realized I only had about two hours to shower and get ready.

"Daisy are you almost ready? You'll miss the bus if we don't get there in time!" my mom yelled at me from downstairs.

I knew she was right and started getting ready; my phone started ringing right as I stepped out of the shower I ran to answer it and almost slipped and fell. I grabbed onto the counter luckily as I picked up,

"Hello?"

"Daisy are you leaving??" my best friend screamed at me through the phone.

I yanked the phone away from my ear wincing, "Yes I'm getting ready to go, are you trying to get me deaf before I leave?"

"Well duh of course, I can't talk to you for a whole weekend!" I rolled my eyes

"Yes, I know you'll survive, I'll be back before you know it."

I heard her sigh "But Daisyyy I'm gonna miss you"

I laughed "I know Dani, I'll miss you too. I really have to go though and finish getting ready I'll call you when I get back on Sunday, Love you!"

"Ok, ok love you too! Be safe!! Bye"

I hung up just as my door opened "Mom! I'm not ready!"

"Well you would be if you hadn't stopped to talk so much, hurry up." She walked out looking annoyed.

I sighed and pulled on one of my numerous pairs of black leggings with a blue blouse. I rushed to get my hair straightened as my curly hair was hard to control. I put on two coats of mascara and carefully applied my eyeliner knowing my mom would make me take it off if it was too thick and make me put more if it was too thin it had to be just perfect. I slipped on a pair of flats, grabbed my bag and headed out.

I was almost to the car and then I heard "Daisy wait!"

I turned around sort of reluctantly "Yes mom?"

She held out pieces of jewelry to me, "I don't understand why I provide you with all this jewelry if you never wear them! These bracelets would go beautifully with what you have on, and your eyeliner is too thick, I'd make you

redo it but then we'll be late, come on get in the car"

I knew better than to say anything in response, I was leaving for the weekend and wanted it to be on good terms. In case I haven't mentioned it yet I'm going on my first retreat with my new school. And if I was being completely honest I was terrified I didn't know anyone that would be attending with me. Keeping myself calm I messed around on my phone staring at the texts he'd repeatedly sent me choosing to just delete them. I didn't need to reread them just when I felt like my life was getting back on track. I would never forgive him for what he had done to me.
