There are two or more clans (three are the best according to me) who live near each other, but are very hostile to each other. Then two or more main characters get to know each other and don't feel any hostility to each other and form a friendship. They then try to convince the rest of the possible friendship between the clans, although it's hard.
There are a few ways to make the story more interesting (that I know about):
1. There will be a villain (or villains) who will always silently try to stop their clan members from rebelling, but the main character doesn't know who that is.
2. There is some old mystery about the past and how the clans came to be to hostile to each other. The main character/s will slowly uncover the truth until they get to where it all began. No particular villain needed.
