And now, five years later, he lies in that same field, under the same sky, hoping, begging the universe to meet those beautiful eyes again. But the universe doesn't hear him and losing hope he goes home disappointed.
Aimlessly scrolling social media when he's met with those eyes again and his heart pounds, those same freckles and moles now accompanied by a shy smile.
"I need to find her..." This time it seemed like the universe heard him, as he noticed the college campus in the background. It was in this city, and it wasn't far.
He hadn't run that fast in years, but he's also never wanted something this bad. He was out of breath when he finally reached the grounds, which didn't have the best guards, I mean, how could they let someone like him slip in so easily?
But now he's reached the hard part, where could he find her? This place was huge, and even if he did manage to figure out where she was, she'd be gone by the time he opened the door.
So, sucking up his ego he drew out the picture of her on his phone and began asking around, every answer leading him to a dead end, god how bad he wanted to paint the walls with their... no no, he shook his head, he had other priorities right now, and it was her.
He nearly gave up until he heard a faint thud behind him, and as he merely glanced over his shoulder to find the source of the sound he froze. There was a young woman, eyes already locked on him, full of shock. Fear? Surprise? He couldn't tell, it felt so unreal to him.
He finally got what he had been searching for. The cause for his anger and his happiness? His sorrow and excitement?
He slowly approached her and she stepped backward until she hit a wall, his cold gaze locked on her face. But despite the stern look on his face, he gently gripped her shoulders and pulled her into a hug, savoring the presence and warmth of the person that made him hear his own heartbeat.
"How... why... why are you here?" She asked, not even bothering to try to escape his embrace.
"Why wouldn't I be? You saved my life, so I now owe you mine." He stated as he released her.
She lifted her chin to look up at him, but he had dropped to his knees, causing her heart to nearly skip a beat.
"I am at your mercy, my love."
