It's been a couple of weeks since the incident and I still replay it all in my mind. I've been keeping an eye on Doctor Octavious, watching what he does, trying to figure out what he's up to.
'He's a very secretive man' I thought to myself as I walked across the roof of my apartment.
I removed my glasses and put on my mask and booted it up. There are lenses of my prescription so I can see without wearing my glasses underneath, also has a few other bits of tech with them, they have night vision as well as an x-ray component. It can't go through any thick walls but standard walls are fair game.
I popped my glasses into the backpack on the roof near the door and decided to run around and see what was happening today.
I only had one plan tonight;
'I'll see Doctor Octavius tonight for sure,' I think to myself as I walk toward the roof's edge.
I chose to go down the fire escape and make my way into the street, I can blend in with shadows easily there and walk around without being spotted.
I had been walking around for a good 20 minutes when I saw a mechanical arm in the distance towards the pier and then disappear into an abandoned building.
'That's gotta be him' I thought to myself before making my way to the desolated building. I quietly climbed up the run-down and falling-apart wall, careful where I put my clawed boots for a better grip.
I can hear murmuring inside and mechanical sounds.
'Is he talking to himself?' I thought to myself as I reach a safe spot where I could see in.
"We can rebuild!" I hear him say confused for a moment then it clicks in my head.
'He's probably going to recreate that thing the papers were talking about, where the accident happened.' I paused recalling the article 'There's a component he'll need and that's at the Oborne building.' I thought not paying attention, remembering back a few months ago, walking down the street when a suited young man walked past me saying something about this machine he was helping to fund and to equip.
'Who woulda thought that convo would mean something to me now.' I chuckle to myself a little.
At this point something hit the wall I was resting on I had to quickly jump out of the way but something grabbed my leg before I could get away and it dragged me over and up high.
As the dust cleared I opened my eyes to be facing, upside down and right in front of Doctor Octavious. I froze for a second, I'm not good at confrontation.
He peered over me in front of him, his head lifting and down as he looked over me. I could feel myself turning red under my mask as his eyes looked at every inch of me. I had to say something.
"Do, you mind putting me down? I'm feeling lightheaded being upside down." I asked holding one hand over my chest and one in front of me so he could see I had no weapon.
He pondered my request and looked toward his claw friends. He seemed to have a silent conversation with them for a brief moment before snapping his eyes back at me and smirking.
"Sure, on one condition," he spoke softly and his voice was deep, it caught me off guard for a moment and I mumbled out an "Okay..." Then he lowered me down to the ground.
I snapped back when I realised I could almost reach the floor so I stopped my descent with my arms softening the landing.
I slowly stood up and brushed off any dirt I could see before looking back at him trying to avoid any form of eye contact, wearing a mask made it very easy to do.
