Oh boy.

Galadriel randomly decides to swim an ocean which should be impossible for her to do which makes her look like an idiot.

Not that she should be there as she was banished, but then there is this kind of narrative going on that effectively Gil-galad's reason for sending her away is because she causes to much trouble and likes to poke the bear before they're ready to fight the bear. I mean, that's my impression with how all her men turned on her, and she decides to humorously jump into an Ocean no Elf, female or not can swim.

We also see she's mad at the entire world, particularly males as she refuses to let Halbrand help her and lets a woman who pushes her back in later because they blame her for bringing the sea creature onto them, and this is because she is so jaded by her brother's death despite so many years passing, which is a bit strange given how much time passed—she is an elf after all.

Let's not get started with the fact that's not how her brother died, that he came back alive and yet there's a bit of worry because of a rumor that her brother will come back to life and lead a band of Orcs which means either he changes sides because he became corrupted or because he convinced a bunch of Orcs to turn towards the light. Both are bad.

And there's the worry that Halbrand is supposed to be Sauron ias it's too obvious. The Gandalf like character is too weird when they've tossed in to many hints. And the other choice is Theo, so I guess that would make Bronwen a virgin Mary character type? Yeah. None of those are good options for Sauron even though they think they're good ones.

But this is why people are saying she's a Mary Sue, she doesn't just beat a troll that flattened a bunch of other Elves, but we're supposed to believe that she is able to swim an ocean rather than her being stupid, the exact opposite of her being wise just as her being the warrior class is the exact opposite of the mage class. Galadriel – Mage Class vs. Warrior Class touches upon that.

As for character growth, she's got her one thing—revenge!

So no, don't see her character developing particularly if they think having her attempt to swim an entire ocean shows how awesome she is rather than how stupid she is.

Oh, and how did she hold onto her blade for so long?

That's about it.
