The sun had risen higher towards the beginning of the afternoon and I'd torn off my green work boots, coffee brown suspenders and washed the mud off my hands. I'd been busy working in the shed behind the cabin house to notice that time had flown by. I tap on my phone to check the time, getting a bit of dirt on the screen. I groan internally.

The phone finally comes on. It's past twelve. Hence, I should get out of here and head upstairs to shower because Carly would be coming over soon. We have a girl's day out today and I can't wait to head out.

See more of Bloomfield that I've missed in the past five years, feel the environment of the busy small town and go to a farmers market to pick out vegetables. But first, I think Carly has other plans for us. We're visiting her aunt Darly.

Staring inside the shed from the door, it looks a bit tidier. Fewer dust and junk. I'd rid the place of some old boxes and cartons containing rusty items. Grannie used the Shed like an attic, storing a lot of things inside like family photo albums, antiques, her old machines no longer in use, and other necessities because the Cabin House doesn't have an attic. Only a few boxes left now and I'd run that some other day.

I run my fingers down the handle of my old pink dirt bicycle. It's broken at the tire but I'm not willing to throw it out yet. I remember driving it around the cabin after School and to the lake to meet Grandma for our Friday picnics. It's fixable and I bet it can be donated to a children care facility.

I shut the door of the shed locking it up and head towards the house after I'd rinsed my boot and placed it on a wooden chair to dry outside. I'm home alone now because Adam had to run to the grocery store.

It's been about an hour  and I can't say I'm not enjoying the peace. It's quiet, the dogs are not in and the environment is filled with the sound of chirping birds and trees rustling every now and then. I take off my boots and dump them by the backdoor.

Of all times for grandma to go. Summer? Summer was our time. We had lots of picnics by the beach and we make lots of snacks. Her croissants where my favorite along with vanilla cakes with strawberries toppings. Then we'd venture into town and have a girl's day out, visit some friends and go to church on Sundays.

Shoot! I press my palm against my head after I'd bumped into the wall. I didn't see that there. I stare down at my bare cladded feet that escaped being stubbed and the chipped off red paint looked really bad.

Time to have a cold shower! I head upstairs to get ready for the drive to town. It's so hot today that I didn't apply lotion but I made sure to put sunscreen inside my bag and some sunnies. There wasn't enough time to get creative with my dressing so I just throw on khaki shorts and a free shirt with a bucket hat because I didn't wash my hair or shampoo it.

I snag a book from my Marc Jacobs Tote bag which I haven't offloaded since yesterday before heading downstairs and dialing Carly's number again. No sign of Adam yet but I know he'll be heading in soon. Nobody spends hours in a grocery shop.
