Chapter 22: Battle of Mt. Vesuvius

Mt. Vesuvius, 79 AD

Purgatory POV

It was me against Malice and Amber who is swing her sword against me while I fighting with my damage rigs which is disadvantage to me. I continue to fight back against Malice who is firing his own rigs against me, but manage to miss me while I keep dodging Amber's sword. The fighting last of couple of hours until the fight took place on top of Mt. Vesuvius and I really don't want to disrespect the gods, but this question is unknow to them since Sirens don't believe in Humanity gods. Malice question me about it.

Malice: "Are you really a Siren cause you almost sound a human."

Purgatory: "You can say that I found a new path to follow."

Malice: "A path where you died from you Siren scum; once we kill you then we go after that woman."

Purgatory(angry): "Touch her; you and the Ashes are dead meat to me."

Malice(smile): "See if you can back it up."

I open fire with my damage rigs, but keep missing him; he return fire and manage to hit me which it is painful.

Purgatory(pain): "AHHHHH!"

Malice: "It was foolish to face us with your damage rigs and not knowing that we will hunt you down. You got too comfortable in this era for a long time in which you forgot about everyone including the Sirens. I wonder what your sister will think about you now."

After he said that; I was angry to mention her named.

Purgatory(angry): "Don't bring her into this Malice; this is between you and me."

Malice: "Strike a nerve do I, but don't worry she will join you in the afterlife if there is an afterlife for you Sirens."

The fight last for another hour in which I was beaten down. I was cover in blood and my rigs is almost destroyed, but I can't let them kill Arianna so I need to throw everything at them; however another Ashes arrive to help them. It was Code G.

G: "What is taking you guys so long; hard to take out a single Siren."

Malice: "He is persistent after all, but where were you?"

G: "You said we need to deal a woman so I dealt with her."

She was holding Arianna by the neck cover in blood, but she is still alive barely. I was angry that they touch her. It was that moment that everything change the course of the battle. I decided to use my Awaken mode.

Meanwhile same area

Malice POV

After Code G dealt with Purgatory's mate; there was a massive earthquake which both of us are holding tight and figure what is going on here until the volcano erupts with lava spewing out of it including sending ashes to the entire area.

Amber: "What is going on here?"

Malice: "The volcano has erupted, but why now?"

We both look around to see the cause until we see Purgatory glowing red including his eyes which means he is the one who is doing this. Showing your true color Purgatory.
