The leaves fell down from the trees, a soft breeze in the atmosphere. This was the perfect time to do it.

Kenma was on break while you grabbed the box from your locker and rushed over to the court. Huffing and puffing before calling out Kenma's name. "Ken!" You shouted, as he was startled by your loud shout; he spilled his water on the floor. He bowed to coach Nekomata as he jogged your way.

Your mouth became an 'o' shape before bowing your head and mumbling apologies to Kenma. "It's- it's fine." He replies, shaking his head nervously. "What did you want?" He continues. "Can you.. come with me to the school garden? I need to talk to you." You hesitantly say, lowering your head as you clasped your hand onto the small box. Kenma was reluctant because he didn't want to get scolded by Kuroo again for being late after break.

He sighs, "Okay."

There, standing in front of you was Kenma Kozume; the boy you have always wanted to confess to but never could. And today, is the day. "I wanted to give you this." You sputtered, holding out to what Kenma sees as a jewelry box. And it was. It was glittered slightly as it shone in the sun. The color was yellow and the ribbon was white.

He raised an eyebrow, "What's this?" He asks. "Open it."

Inside was a necklace. A gold necklace. "Is this real gold?" He asks again. "It's gold plated." You reply, scratching the back of your neck shyly. The charm was a silhouette of a cat. On the neck of it, is a gem. The tail curving in a heart shape. Kenma was taken aback. It was so pretty. The chain is a filled flat cable type.

Kenma is in awe. "Thank you." He smiled warmly at you while the breeze blew on his hair. he looked so angelic. His golden eyes stared into yours as you two were 2 feet away from each other. "I also wanted to say..."

He tilted his head as he hummed in question.

"I.." You looked down, averting your gaze as your face started to become red. "I like you, Ken." You finally confess. You look back up to see Kenma frown.

"I'm sorry." Was what you remember. "I'm very sorry, Y/n. I.. don't feel the same." He adds, giving you the necklace back. "No. Please keep it, Ken." You insist. He nodded, hugging you before he went back to the court in time.

It hurt, but it was an achievement. And besides, your feelings wouldn't last long now since today was the last day of high school. And you two would be going to different college's.

Or so you thought.

He changed.. or not.
