Hope

Hope is the feeling I get when I look at my grandparents
Hope is the feeling I get when I sing in the car and I don't have a care in the world
Hope comes in all shapes in sizes
In bottles and prescriptions
But false hope lives in the heart of delusion
Where you hid from me in a game of hide and seek
False hope is in the dessert were you try to start a farm
False hope is when you dive into the ocean when your mother told you not to because you don't know how to swim
Because when you blindly put faith in something
It's called false hope
And sometimes it takes years to realize how far you have gone and how you can't turn around
But see there's always a spark
Learning to swim
Planting a seed
That makes you believe
It will flourish
Into something real
Something possible
Something hopeful
You can always find it if you look hard enough
If you look too hard it won't
All good things come to those who wait
Yet keep steadfast
Try your hardest
But don't be disappointed
Do better
But don't try so hard
I'll love you no matter what
Unless you disappoint me
