They did not return to school, there father home schooled them with little Papyrus.

There was no need, as the school would have been empty and to many parents feared the plague may return and never see there children again.

"Hey Vibe, do you ever wonder why humans hate monsters?" Ash asked one day, today the two ten year olds were laying on the beach watching the waves roll.

"Don't know... all I know, is what the history books say it was bad.. even the Great spirits rose briefly," Vibe said, trying to skip a rock.

"Big brothers!" Papayrus squeaked running over wearing his favorite Orange shirt, briefly tripping over sand.

"Hey lil Bro," Ash greeted with a grin.

"Not little," the almost five year old pouted, stamping on the sand.

"Little Bro, Little bro.. so small can fit in the palm of a hand," Vibe teased.

"Gahhh!" Papayrus cried jumping forward, Vibe laughed moving to catch him and cuddling him.

"Well, smaller then your big brothers," Ash laughed, Papyrus stuck out his tongue.

"Going to be big, so tall you'll be tiny," Papyrus told the twins.

"That sounds like a promise," Vibe said.

"Yup, and I'll be so tall you won't be able to play any more pranks on me," The babybones said very serious.

"That would be a giant sized up then," Ash said poking Papyrus forehead.

"Nyeh Heh Heh!" Papyrus laughed, enjoying the cuddles.

"Tomorrow is your birthday right," Ash teased.

"Of course, I turn five," Papyrus said happily.

"Guess, who got permission to give your gift a day early," the twins told him.

"Really!" Papyrus said excited "Your not teasing me right?"

"Nope," Vibe said putting Papyrus down, then plopped a rather Orange wrapped packing down in his hands.

"Thank you!" Papayrus squealed happily, then started to rip the paper apart.

There was a silent moment as paper ripped, to reveal the gift below.

"Ohhh!" Papyrus said in happiness, carefully pulling the gift out. A long scarf was revealed. It was very long, almost too long for there tiny sibling to wear. It was White with beautiful plant motifs carefully sewed on it. All parts had a slight shimmer to them as it was mana threads, showing that during the thread being made magic was added to them.

"Wow, I love it," Papyrus said, quickly looping the huge scarf around his neck.

"Glad you like it bro," Ash said happily, as the twins has saved up a year to commission for there brother's gift.

"I'm going show dad!" Papyrus said running off, only tripping over the scarf once as he ran.

"Don't know how were going to top this next year," Ash laughed getting up from the sand, Vibe didn't answer staring out at the ocean.

"Vibe?" Ash asked in concern.

"My ears are ringing, do you hear a weird whistly sound?" Vibe asked, Ash blinked and realized he could.

A strange shadow briefly covered the sun, so fast they didn't catch what it was.

There was... a strange unnatural silence, the twins hugged each other in fright.

For a moment it was as if everything became a negative image.

Vibe saw Ash's mouth move, but couldn't make it out.

Then everything rushed back to normal, the ground shaking far far away.

"What.. is that..." Ash whispered in fright.

In the sky, where many many miles away they knew the island of Bantam from maps a strange dark sickly cloud circled.

"I... I don't know," Vibe gulped.

Science... had come to a world of magic.
