It wasn't working.

I kept trying to communicate with Whilara, but it wasn't working. She must have been too far away. It was no use to keep trying, so I headed back towards the mountains when I saw what looked like a dead animal lying in the dirt.

But it wasn't an animal.

It was a boy.

And it wasn't just a boy.

It was Bolt.

I raced over as fast as I could to him, but it was too late. He had died. I leaned over him to see that he had been jabbed in the rib cage, most likely by Nivara. I couldn't see Whilara anywhere, she must have left a while ago. I decided it was best if I let him go. So I put my hand over his wound and began to channel my light into him.

WHILARA'S POINT OF VIEW

I don't know how I talked. I had been unable to speak since 2 years ago when Nivara took my vocal box. I tried to talk, and sure enough, I could speak. I was confused by this. Another thing that I had figured out how to do was fly. Not with wings, but with the life inside me. I was so confused right now.

But that wasn't my biggest concern at the time. I was looking around and I saw the brightest light id ever seen coming from the mountains.

Alana.

I knew it was her straight away. So I flew. I put all my energy and life into flying, and I flew as fast as I did when I was running to Bolt. I was back at his body in a couple of minutes flat, and sure enough, Alana was there with him.

"Where have you been?" I looked at her.

She looked back up at me. Then she stood up so she was level with me.

"I left."

"Yeah, I know that stupid. Why did you leave me? Why did you leave Bolt here to die?"

"I didn't know he had died-."

"Of course not!" I yelled. "You left!!"

She sighed at me.

"I'm sorry. But your not the only one with problems, ok?"

I was taken aback. Alana had never been mean, or harsh, in any way before. But she was right.

"Yes, I know that. But you didn't even look for me. You just left. And because of that, Bolt died."

"Well, at least I got your voice back to you."

"I WOULD RATHER HAVE NO VOICE THAN HAVE NO BOLT!!" I screamed at her as loud as I could. Tears filled my eyes, and I picked up Bolt's cold, dead body.

I lifted myself up into the air, and began to look for a nearby town. Sure enough, I spotted one east of the mountains, so I began to fly there.
