It was the next morning when Eleanor and Theodore woke up to realise that only more snow had blocked their only way out. They had no idea of what to do. Eleanor began pacing, trying to find a way out, but Theodore shut her down quickly saying “Nothing you do will get us out of here faster. Nothing you think of is going to work, we just have to wait for someone to show up or for the snow to melt.” Eleanor made her way from the door, where she had been pacing, over to the bed where Theodore was lying.
Eleanor was hoping that the snow would start melting as it was now daytime, but that didn’t seem to be the case. Theodore decided to look around and go through all the cabinets. To his surprise, when he looked in the last cabinet, he found some monopoly, stuff to make hot chocolate and some Christmas socks. The Christmas socks looked surprisingly clean for being in a old cabinet. In fact, the monopoly and hot chocolate looked new.
Eleanor was suspicious but to her surprise Theodore acted like a little kid. Wanting the hot chocolate immediately, putting a pair of the socks on straight away and wanting to play the monopoly. Eleanor thought it was kind of sweet, how he acted when he wasn’t in school, he wasn’t mean at all. In fact, he was a little child at heart. Eventually, Eleanor gave in and joined Theodore but still was cautious because something just didn’t feel right.
