It was a rainy October night in Hawkins. Two teenage girls, Barb and Nancy, were having a sleepover. Right before the two girls were getting ready to watch The Amityville Horror the phone started to ring. The girls answered the phone and the first thing they heard was a deep voice saying "Hello girls". The girls start laughing because they think it's Steve and Robin trying to be funny.
After the girls stopped laughing, Nancy said "Ok, Steve and Robin, what do you guys want?"
The caller then says "Trust me, this isn't Steve or Robin". The girls go quiet for a second, then the caller says "what's wrong? Are you girls scared"?
Nancy replies saying "Ok, if this isn't Steve or Robin, then who is this?"
The caller then says "You'll never know, especially when I gut you two like a fish."
Nancy panics and hangs up. The girls quickly locked the doors and windows. Nancy looks at Barb and tries to reassure her by saying "It might just be Steve being a dick". Barb nods, agreeing with her best friend.
Nancy asks Barb "do you want me to call Jonathan?" Barb nods again, terrified.
Nancy makes a call to Jonathan but to her surprise, Will answers.
Will asks "Nancy, what's wrong?" sounding kinda confused.
Nancy says "Will, where's Jonathan?" trying not to sound too panicked so she doesn't scare the teenage boy.
Will replies "Work. Why? Is everything okay Nancy?" his tone changed to worried.
Nancy says "It's nothing, Will. Thanks" trying not to worry him and quickly hangs up on the boy.
The phone rings again. Nancy answered quickly, thinking it was Jonathan calling on his work phone. It's the anonymous caller again. He then says "Nancy, what's wrong? Why'd you hang up?"
Barb snatches the phone and screams "WHAT DO YOU WANT, ASSHOLE?" Clearly on the verge of an anxiety attack.
The caller replies "To see what your insides look like". The girls are about to hang up in obvious fear.
When the caller replies again "I wouldn't do that if you wanna survive".
Nancy then says "I'm calling the cops."
The caller says "You're in the middle of nowhere. They wouldn't make it unlike me who is outside."
The girls both feel their hearts drop in terror.
The caller replies to the silence "Come on, let's play a fun game".
Barb replies sobbing at this point. "What kind of game?"
The caller says "I ask you each a question about a horror movie. If you get it right, you live, get it wrong, you die. Got it".
Nancy replies with a shaky tone "I guess".
"Perfect. Let's start with a practice question". He says to the teenager.
Nancy replies "Ok."
Barb looks at Nancy terrified. Nancy mouths to Barb "It's ok, Mike loves horror movies. I know some basics."
The caller then says "Ok, the practice question is: what year did Nightmare on Elm Street come out?"
Nancy quickly replies "November 16th 1984."
"Very well Nancy. That wasn't so hard, right"? The anonymous caller asked.
Nancy takes a deep breath and replies to his question "No."
"Ok, now for the real questions. What is Micheal Myers, little sister's name"? He asks her
"Um". Nancy freezes and tries to think.
"Come on Nancy. It's one of Mike's favorites." He replies to Nancy being stuck.
Nancy says "Her nickname is Boo." She says scared about not being correct.
The caller asks "What is her birth name? And what is her adopted name"?
Nancy thinks and yells into the phone "ANGEL MYERS IS HER NAME AT BIRTH NAME. HER ADOPTED PARENTS CHANGED HER NAME TO LAURIE STRODE." Only knowing because she just remembered the times Mike would ask her that to see if she was paying attention to the movie.
The caller laughs "A+ for you, Wheeler. Now give the phone to Barb."
Nancy looks at Barb and both girls get nervous, since Barb isn't big on horror movies. Nancy slowly hands Barb the phone.
Barb puts it to her ear and says "What's the question?" She says feeling like her heart is gonna stop in fear.
"Ok, Barb, how did the demon greet the exorcist"? He asks her, Barb freezes and looks at Nancy.
Then Nancy mouths "I think it's The sow is mine". With an unsure look on her face.
Barb then says in a confused tone "The sow is mine."
The caller laughs "Sorry Barb, you're incorrect. The answer is actually "Excellent day for an exorcism".
Barb hangs up and calls the police, but by the time the police picked up, the girls heard the back door smash. The girls panicked and ran up to Nancy's room. Nancy tells the cops about the call and the break in. The officer told the girls to try and hide while the cops were on their way. The power cut and the girls lost their signal, causing the phone to hang up.
Nancy quietly walks around her room trying to find some flashlights. Once Nancy finds two flashlights, she hands one to Barb and grabs one of her guns that she hides under her bed. Barb looks at Nancy shocked, not expecting her to be the type to have guns.
Nancy whispers "We have to run towards the front door."
Nancy quietly opens her door and sneaks down the stairs when she sees someone in a Ghostface costume in the kitchen going through the knives. Just as she was going to tell Barb to go back in the room, Barb dropped her flashlight. Ghostface looks directly at them and Barb screams and runs downstairs, while Nancy starts shooting at him. Ghostface quickly runs into the basement.
Nancy runs to Barb and whispers "We don't have time, we have to go through my window."
Barb whispers "agreed". Just wanting to be out of the house with the killer in it.
Nancy quickly opens her window and leaves the house, while Barb followed. The girls start running when they notice the Ghostface starts running after them. Nancy tries to shoot, but her gun ran out of bullets. Nancy screams in irritation while running for her life. Ghostface grabs Barb's arm and pulls her into him and stabs her in the chest and Barb screams out in pain.
Nancy stops and turns around and sees her best friend covered in blood. Nancy stands there in complete shock while she sees this psycho stabbing her only real friend over and over. Barb lies on the ground struggling to breath and says "Nancy run". Ghostface gets up and looks at Nancy. Right as he was about to make his attack on Nancy, he heard the cop sirens and ran into the woods.
Nancy sits on the sidewalk sobbing next to her dead best friend. When the cops show up, a few of them run and search the forest, while the rest try to calm Nancy down to get answers about what happened. After that, the Wheelers house has become an official crime scene spot. After Barb's body gets picked up, the cops take Nancy into the station to call Ted and Karen to tell them about the incident. The cops also call Barb's parents to tell them about the unfortunate news of their daughter's death.
💕Authors Note💕 I'd like to say a quick few things. I'm not the best writer, but I am hoping to improve as I continue this story! Please feel free to give me suggestions/ feedback on what I can do to make grow as a writer. Also, the murder did take place at Wheeler's house. Mike and Will were together. Holly was with Ted and Karen out of town.
