"Master Tooru," the brunette sighed as he heard his name called.

Turning, he settled his face with a bored expression, "What is it?"

The woman bowed deeply, "Master Hajime has asked for you," she stood but wouldn't look him in the eyes, "he says it's urgent news from Barren Falls."

Oikawa's eyes went wide for a moment. 'The human city,' he thought. "Do I make you nervous, miss?"

Hajime could wait. Tooru wanted to have fun for a moment. He knew better than to toy with her, but he couldn't help himself. He was rather bored these days.

The petite woman before him was likely in her early twenties. He should probably remember her. All of the humans within the main house had been there since Oikawa took over. Roughly a decade ago, she probably knew the halls of the estate better than Tooru himself.

The blonde's eyes darted everywhere but the man's face. That was the problem, though. He wasn't a man. "No, Master Tooru," she replied meekly, "I don't wish to offend you."

"How would you offend me?" Oikawa taunted as he stepped closer.

Her pulse quickened, making Oikawa inhale deeply as her scent covered him.

Nearly quivering, the young woman answered, "I was told not to look at your face, Master Tooru."

Intrigued now, Oikawa gently lifted her chin with his forefinger, "Who told you that?" His tone was calm even though there was a bite to it. He hated the rumors that surrounded his name.

Blinking, she tried to keep her heart from leaping out of her chest when she finally looked at him. "The Headmistress. I'm new to the main wing-"

"Tch," he snapped. "Ignore the old creeton," Oikawa told the girl, "she's merely upset she's being replaced. Go on, dear."

Stepping away from his touch, the young woman couldn't take her eyes off him. Oikawa Tooru. The King of Seijoh. Leader of the the Seijoh Clan. Some revere him. Some fear his wrath.

But women. Women worshiped this male. His brunette hair was swept to the side, showing his beautiful face. His eyes were a light brown, matching that of cream-filled coffee. Sure, most of his kind were handsome, everyone knows that. But Oikawa was a creature all his own.

When the servant turned to scurry away, Oikawa sighed. News from Barren Falls could only mean one of a few things. Heading for the war room chambers, he thought about what could be awaiting him. He didn't want to deal with any of it if he was being honest. He was tired of war. Tired of the world they lived in.

"Iwazumi," Oikawa called as he entered the room, "you look upset."

The two had been raised together since they were infants. They knew one another better than anyone. The slightest break in character and the other would know. A quick glance. A sudden intake of breath. A nod at the right moment. They were all unspoken communications. So when Oikawa saw the bags under Iwazumi's eyes, he knew his friend had been stressed.

"I wouldn't say upset," Hajime said as he stood, "I'm not happy about this, though."

Walking to Oikawa, Iwazumi extended the document to him. Oikawa took the paper and read the contents. As he read, Hajime watched his friend and king's demeanor change.

"Why would they want to have a meeting like this?" Oikawa asked softly. "And why now?"

Hajime took the paper back, "The rumor has been going around for a while now," Oikawa listened intently, "a human girl was kidnapped, part of the royal family. From what this letter says, the humans are wanting a treaty in place to allow them to search for her."

"What do Nekoma and Fukurodani say?" Tooru asked as he sat behind his desk.

Hajime sat across from him, "Akashi and Kenma both said they're attending," Arching a brow, he pushed, "You're not worried about Inarizaki or Shiratorizawa?"

"You and I both know they'll be there," Oikawa shuffled some papers. "Those two clans love being in the middle of everything."

"And what about Johzenji?" Iwazumi hesitated to voice the question.

Frowning, Oikawa looked unsure, "They've been rather quiet lately," dropping the form, Oikawa leaned back in his chair, "I'm sure they'll be there. They'll probably be compliant as they plot how to steal everything."

Chuckling, Iawazumi glanced at the map on the wall. "Suna sent word."

Lifting a brow, Oikawa also focused on the map, "About?"

"It was the princess who was taken from Barren Falls," Oikawa's mouth dropped open. "That's all I know. I don't even know her name. I don't know if it's true. However, other kings seemed rather interested. According to Suna."

"Why is that?" Oikawa's curiosity grew.

Shrugging, Iwazumi explained, "Suna is out telling everyone how beautiful she is. Don't think he knows since he's never seen her. But you know how Suna and Val are."

Chucking, Oikawa knew what he meant. "Val does her best to keep Suna in line. I am grateful for Suna's willingness to be the ambassador, though."

"Even if a third of his information is exaggerated?" Hajime smiled as his friend laughed.

"He's never given us false information," Oikawa tried to say with a straight face. "Just because those lizard creatures weren't as poisonous as he said, they were still a problem."

Unable to deny that Oikawa was right, Iwazumi moved on. "I'll start preparing everything for us to leave tomorrow morning."

Sighing, Oikawa whined, "I don't want to travel that far."

"Will you quit being a baby about this?" Iwazumi was always Oikawa's voice of reason. "You forget the humans have the hot springs."

Humming, Oikawa grew serious. "Do you think it's a good idea for all of the clans to meet in Barren Falls?"

"No," Hajime admitted, "I hope they know what they're doing by requesting all of us to convene there."

"They wouldn't request our presences like this without good reason," Oikawa knew his best friend and advisor was right. "Can I expect you to be on your best behavior?"

Oikawa ran his tongue against his fang without Iwazumi seeing him. "I'm always on my best, kingly, behavior."

"And I'm twenty years old," Iwazumi snorted. "I'm serious. This is the last place you need to find trouble."

Standing, Oikawa began to walk for the door. Casually, he replied, "I can't help that trouble always seems to find me, Hajime."

The man waited until he was too far for Iwazumi to respond. Instead, he shouted, "Tooru!"
