Gotta catch 'em all!

Ch 2 ^~ We're off~^

 Hey guys! just wanna let you know beforehand that I will probably be writing this in first person from Azalea, and i apologize if i accidentally switch to third person.

                 We started walking of to my little cousins to get their stuff. When we finally reached their house we knocked on the door. I didn't expect my aunt and uncle to be there since I saw them at the lab, but apparently they were there already there. When we knocked they opened the door and heather (their mother) greeted us. I could tell she had been fighting with Dan. "Hello Azalea, im happy that you finally have gotten your license.". I smiled awkwardly "Yeah, i have a question though."  Heather nodded, encouraging me to ask.  "I was wondering if Jewell and Laney could travel with me and Griffin." Heather looked at me with surprise. "Well, i think that may be best for them." I nodded understanding.

           I walked up the stairs with laney and jewell to go pack their stuff, leaving Griffin downstairs with Dan and Heather. I simply packed up clothes, toys, pokemon books, and stuffed animals for them. When i went back downstairs, Griffin was drinking some tea. "Alright Griffin, we're ready" Griffin smiled and we said goodbye. As we left, i opened the map. "I think we should start up route 1 and go up to Viridian City" I drew my finger up along my map to Viridian City. "I think that's a good idea."Griffin said, I smiled as we walked off to the end of the town.

                 Pikachu sat up on my shoulder and started to close her eyes. As we reached the end of the town, Griffin stopped. I looked at him, a bit confused. Then he raised his hand and i got the message and high-fived him. As we walked up Laney and Jewell started talking to Griffin about how they had never been out of Pallet Town.  As we started walking up route 1 i spotted a certain area of grass moving ever so slightly.

                  As i looked in the grass i spotted a pidgey. I smiled at the pokemon and took out my pokedex. " Very docile. If attacked, it will often kick up sand to protect itself rather than fight back." Makes sense why it hasn't been startled yet. Pikachu who was already awake growled at the pidgey. Everybody else was sitting down by a tree in the shade. "Alright pikachu, quick attack" Pikachu hopped of my shoulder and quickly ran into the pidgey, when it did i threw the pokeball at it. Pikachu returned to me and we watched the pokeball wiggle and wiggle until it let out a sastifying ding.

                 Griffin had rushed over and let out a surprised yelp. "Wow! No way Azen! you already got a pokemon!?" i laughed "Yeah a pidgey but it isn't ice or dark". Griffin wanted to specialize in ice and dark because those were his favorite types. Griffin nodded and started talking about how he wanted to get a Glaceon. Jewell and Laney had ran ahead of us to go see some pretty flowers. All of a sudden a girl scout stopped us "You look like you can put up a good fight, wanna battle?". She reached into her satchel and pulled out a Pokeball. I nodded, wanting to see how my pidgey fought.

        "Go Raticate!" She yelled sending out her pokemon. I threw out Pidgey who was a bit confused, but got the jist that it was a fight. "Pidgey Whirlwind" Pidgey flew up and started creating a big  gust of wind and turned it into a whirlwind. Raticate had flown up in the wind and the girl scout yelled "Raticate, crunch!". It tried to fling itself up to bite pidgey, but right now pidgey was in its element so Raticate couldn't. I calmly told pidgey to quick attack, and it flew down and started to do many small attacks on Raticate. Eventually the girl scout called back her pokemon and i called back pidgey.

                 The girl moaned and groaned at her lost and the asked me "You're good. How long have you been a pokemon trainer?". As i put the pidgey back in my belt, I said "Hmmm, about an hour". The girl scouts mouth gaped open "Only an hour?" she congratulated me on doing a good job and we went our separate ways. Griffin was talking about how i did a good job. That was when something ran up and bit my ankle "Ow!" i exclaimed. What was that? , i looked around confused. "Right there!" Griffin shouted, and  then my cousins came running up. 

                  Right under a bush i saw a Rattata snarling at me. I opened my pokedex and scanned it "Will chew on anything with its fangs. If you see one, you can be certain that 40 more live in the air" I frowned. "Okay pikachu. Thunder Jolt" when pikachu was done with the attack the poor pokemon was fried. I mumbled "Ankle-biter" before throwing the pokeball at it, and capturing it. Griffin sighed and sat down to take a break. "If we keep on taking breaks Griffin we will never get to Viridian city" he laughed before saying quietly " Why can't you just enjoy nature for a bit. We can eat some food and you can let your pokemon have some fun and roam around."

            I agreed to sit down and relax some and proceeded to let pidgey and rattata go play with pikachu. I took out some sandwiches and gave them to everybody. "So Griffin, how come you haven't caught any Pokémon?" I said taking a bite of my sandwich. Griffin smiled and said  "Well, I honestly don't want that many pokemon, just a few. Preferably ice and dark. But ill be just happy being with you, and accompanying you on your journey". I was a bit confused and asked "Don't you finally want to settle down though, yah know, get a partner?". Griffin smiled "No, i want to stay with you, if i were to settle down it would only be when you settle down and don't need me anymore, i won't leave you." I beamed at what he said honestly Griffin made me feel safe i needed him, so it made me happy to know he wanted to stay with me on my journey.

               Rattata and Pidgey returned to me and we packed up heading towards Viridian city again. Laney and Jewell were tired from walking around and trudged slowly behind us. As we walked on they kept on complaining about how their feet hurt and i reminded them about how they shouldn't have wandered off so far and maybe their feet wouldn't hurt so bad.  After about another hour we finally reached Viridian City.
