Chapter Eighteen

We've finished press and this weekend is my bachelorette party which is exciting. Ophelia has planned everything and even though she's not 21 yet she's organised a cocktail making class that also does mocktails for her and the other underage attendees. We start the weekend off with a spa day and some yoga before we move on to getting ready for the night. Joe is also having his bachelor party but Gaten has whisked him away for a basketball game and other very Joe activities for the weekend.

We are of course drinking prior to heading out for dinner and I notice Willa is kinda quiet so I go over to her "Penny for your thoughts" I say "I don't want to put a downer on things" she says "We're family tell me" I say "So now that Ares is travelling less we thought about trying for a baby and we were having problems conceiving so we went to a doctor and there's a problem with my ovaries which means my egg count is super low and we have to do IVF to get pregnant" she says "I'm so sorry but I know that you and Ares will be parents one day whatever way it happens if its naturally or through adoption I just know" I say "Thanks Eden now let's get back to celebrating you" she says.

After our cocktail making class we head dancing and for drinks. We're having a great time and the boys show up and join us later on "Hey there soon to be husband" I say "Hi soon to be wife. Scale of 1-10 how drunk are you right now" he says kissing me "Solid 8. What about you" I say "6 but soon be a seven. You having fun" he says "Yes can you believe we're getting married in a week" I say "Yeah it's crazy but I'm also very excited" he says "Me too" I say and we kiss and Fee comes over "Now your both here it's time for a little game" she says "Your doing this now after we've both been drinking" I say "Yes makes it funner" she says and we let her sit us down and her and Gaten hand us some note pads and markers "So we're going to ask you both the same question and see if you get the same answers" Gaten says "Like a gameshow" I say "Basically so first question where was your first kiss" he says and we both right down our answers "Joe first" she says and he reveals his answer "Technically it was on set but that doesn't really count our actual first kiss was Eden's car at JFK" he says "Eden your answer" she says and I show mine and its the same "Yeah we don't count that kiss on set as our first kiss" I say "This one is a little more risqué. What is Joe's favourite body part of yours" he says and I have to think about this for a minute before I write down my answer "Eden your answer" Fee says "I was gonna play it safe and say all of me because that's something Joe would say but I actually think it's my hands because he once told me my hands fit perfectly in his" I say and Joe reveals his answer and it's the same "Good job so far. Next one where was your first date" Gaten says and we both write something down "Joe" he says "We never really technically had a first date we just were hanging out and kept doing that once we were together but the first time we hung out just us was your dad's concert in Atlanta" Joe says and I reveal the same answer "Who gets the last word in an argument" she says and we quickly write down answers "Eden" she says "I don't like to lose an argument it's my personality so I always have to have the last word" I say and Joe's answer is the same and we do some more questions which we manage to get right before we call quits on this game and we enjoy the rest of our night.

I have a final dress fitting today and this will be the first time Joe's mom has seen my dress because she missed the countless bridal shops I went to before finally finding my dress. Now that it actually fits right it feels extra real that we're getting married in a few days. I come out with a veil on as I'm still deciding to wear one or not and Nina starts tearing up "You look beautiful. Joe is going to lose it when he sees you" she says "He better took me weeks to find the perfect dress" I say and we laugh and cry and hug and feel a million emotions in that moment. I spend the rest of the day finalising things and finishing my vows which I had put off a little too long but everything is falling into place and in a few days I marry my best friend.
