After dropping off Phil and Alex at their homes, Emma heads to her parents house to drop off Neal.
"Neal, I know you like Alex," Emma states to the teenager, sitting in the passenger seat next to her. His eyes widen in shock as he turns his head towards his sister.
"What brought you to that assumption?" Neal questions his sister in confusion.
"It's pretty obvious!" Emma smiles at her brother. Neal blushes in embarrassment. "Don't be shy Neal," Emma assures him. "I'm pretty sure she likes you too, I've seen the way she looks at you. You don't need to impress her by getting yourself or her in trouble with the law."
"I wasn't trying to impress her," Neal scoffs. "You know I get very curious when I get a chance to explore."
"You're not getting it Neal, you were trust passing in a restricted area," Emma explains. "That's illegal! Mom's really not gonna be happy when you get home, and yes, I have to tell her."
Eventually, Emma and Neal arrive at the Nolan household. The two of them exit the police vehicle, and walk up to the front door. Emma knocks, and after a few moments the door opens.
Snow White gasps as she sees her elder son whom she thought was still asleep.
"What's going on here?" Snow White questions in concern. "I thought you were still asleep."
"Nope, he was caught trust passing at the old pawnshop with his friends," Emma explains.
"Neal, get your butt inside and give me your phone, NOW!" Snow White shouts at her son.
"I guess I'll go now," Emma suggests. "It looks like you've got this covered." The mother and daughter whom are like sisters then hug each other.
"Don't forget, dinner's at six," Snow White reminds her daughter. Bring the fam, Regina is bringing Allison! Zelena is bringing Robin as well!"
"Yes, all five of us are coming," Emma assures her mother before leaving and shutting door behind her.
"Hand it over young man," Snow White glares at her son as she holds out her hand. The sixteen year old boy reluctantly places his phone in his mother hand before walking into the kitchen.
Snow White enters the kitchen behind him, and sets the cell phone down on the counter. A middle aged man with short, salt and pepper colored hair and facial hair, finishes putting the clean dishes away in the cabinets before turning towards his wife.
He observes his wife with such joy, noticing her long, ever greying hair. Curiosity fills his mind as Neal grabs a packet of instant oatmeal from one of the cabinets.
"So, what happened this time?" The man questions his wife as if he's not surprised in the slightest.
"Well David, Neal snuck out, and was caught trust passing at the old pawnshop with his friends. After adding water to his bowl of oatmeal, Neal heats it up in the microwave. He then grabs it, and joins his younger brother at the kitchen table.
"Ooooo, were you trying to impress Alex?" the younger boy chuckles at his older brother.
"Andy, can you please shut up!" Neal shouts at his brother in annoyance. "Why does everyone think I like her?"
"You know what Neal, you can go to your room!" Snow White glares at her elder son as he grabs his bowl of oatmeal and his backpack. He then exits the kitchen, and walks upstairs to his room, before slamming the door shut.
"Snow, maybe you shouldn't be so hard on him," David suggests.
"Yeah, you're right," Snow sighs in affirmation. "It's just David, this is our happy ending. I thought we were gonna have this when I was pregnant with Emma, but then before we knew it, in the blink of an eye, we missed out on the first twenty-eight years of her life. There it was, my dream was shattered. Now look at us, we've built the family I always dreamed of having! I just don't want to mess this one up."
David walks towards his wife who begins to tear up, and wraps his arms around her.
Snow, everything's okay," David assures his wife as the two of them embrace each other. "I watch you mother our boys every day, you are fantastic at it!" Snow sniffles as she stares into her husband's eyes.
"You know what, I'll go talk to Neal and apologize," Snow decides as she releases David from her grasp. She then leaves the kitchen, and heads up stairs towards her elder son's room.
She walks into the room, and looks around in confusion as it appears to be vacant. "Neal?" Snow stands still noticing the bowl on his bedside table before turning her attention to the window at the other end of the room. She gasps before running towards it noticing that it is opened. Moments later, her text notification goes off. She pulls her phone out, and looks at the text she sees was sent to the Heroes group chat. Snow's eyes widen as she reads a text from Emma,
