Chapter 4

Sitting down inside of the barrier, you stared at the girl behind the glass that was still unconscious. You couldn't help but wonder how she got inside of the house, your brother normally never forgets to put up the barrier but this time he did. You had already cleaned up the glass out in the living room and your dad is now laying back down, but something else was bothering you.

A sudden sound started to rattle throughout the room, hearing rusted chains clash against each other made a shiver go up your spine before you saw she was waking up. For a second she looked around, confused before coming to realization of where she was.

"Look who has woken up." You spoke, making her dart her eyes over in your direction. She started tugging on the chains until you walked into the room she was in, standing in front of her presence.

"I have a few questions, then after I'll let you roam free." You said once again as she stared at you with a playful look but agreeing with the idea.

"First, what is your name?" You said as she hummed, not taking her eyes off of you.

"The name is Himiko Toga, but you can just call me Toga." The girl said as you could feel her piercing yellow eyes going through your soul.

So Toga is her name, one of many things answered.

You thought while clearing your throat before leaning against the opposite side of the wall, crossing your arms in the process.

"League of Villains, do you know them?" You questioned as Toga's expression changed, catching your attention as she responded a few seconds later. At this time, this league has started to spread quickly around the news so it was about time you started getting more information about them but you had a plan for that later on.

"Nope, I know nothing about them." Toga said with a grin plastered on her face, you could see through her lie but you didn't say anything. You played it off cool, pretending like you didn't know already.

"My last question is how did you find us?" You questioned while taking the key out of your pocket, showing her she is free to leave after she answers it.

"Your brother did not close the barrier last night, so while I was traveling through the woods I saw the entrance and decided to explore a bit." Toga responded as you furrowed your brow, earlier she said she knew your brother too, but how?

"How do you know my brother?" You questioned until she started shaking her head, that was right. You said the other one was the last question, with a groan you walked over and uncuffed her wrist but then quickly grabbed onto them afterwards.

You tightened your grip to make sure she wasn't able to escape before starting to walk her out, once you were out the entrance you let go of her. Toga smiled at you before quickly fleeing from the scene, after she was gone you pulled out a device from your pocket.

"I never knew this would come in handy." You mumbled to yourself while looking at the device, being able to see her pinpointed location on a radar. Currently she is on the move so you need to get going as well to catch up.

With that being said you pulled up your mask and started the sprint, following her moving tracker. You really had to give credit to your father for the tracker invention, how it worked was when you ended up cuffing someone in those chains a gas will slowly leak into their skin, making them a temporary tracker for up to a couple hours. You never saw yourself using this invention but look at you now, chasing after a villain just to get more information off of an interest.

Occasionally you'd look back at the radar to get an updated location, turns out you were in the right area from the start but just the wrong part of town. Next thing you knew, you were already over the fence but this time you had to cut through the city. Without hesitation you put up your hood and walked into the streets, keeping your head hung low while heading towards the pinpointed location.

It didn't take long until the marker stopped moving, it stayed in the same spot that was just up north a bit. Quickening your pace, you stealthy moved towards the mark to find what looked like an abandoned bar.

Is this the right place, why would a big villain league hide here?

You thought before shaking your head, it was better to investigate even though it's a stupid decision, all this trouble for what seems like nothing, maybe the tracker wore off already?

Taking out your knife, you held it close behind your back before slowly starting to peer your head around the entrance to the door. Carefully you creeped inside, gently stepping on the wooden floors so they didn't creak and give away your cover. The inside of the place was darkened, cobwebs were to be seen in every corner with trash left along the dust piled bar.

The sight made you somewhat disgusted with how it's never been cleaned up, although this place is supposed to be abandoned. You continued to walk a bit further when you heard some familiar noises in the distance. Staying quiet, you decided to squat down and focus on listening but most of it was muffled.

"Where were you last night?" A man's voice spoke through the silence while there was other muttering in the background.

"It was this girl, she just so happened to capture me." Another voice spoke, sounding familiar to Toga's from earlier.

"Capture you? Unbelievable!" A man's voice spoke in shock as more muffled voices started talking.

Damn it, I can't understand anything anymore.. I need to get closer without blowing my cover..

You thought as you slowly stepped over the old wooden floors but before you could get any closer you heard a door shut, in the same direction you came in. Panic started to set in as you realized they were coming in the direction where you were hiding. Looking around you decided to escape out of a nearby window with cobwebs around it.

As the footsteps got closer you dashed towards the window, basically diving out of it while the glass shattered but before they were able to get to the incident you were already gone. While returning home, you were flooded with questions and you wanted answers.

First, how did this group originally find the hideout and second.. how do they know Damien?
