Shinobu pov
Shinobu was summoned to go to the kagaya's estate.
Kagaya: welcome, my child.
Shinobu bowed. She remembers y/n and kanae talking about kagaya. He was the leader.
Shinobu: I'm glad to see you in good health, okayata-Sama.
Kagaya: thank you, Shinobu. How have you and y/n been since Kanae's passing?
Shinobu: thank you for asking, okayata-Sama. I've been fine but y/n hasn't taken it well. He just sits in his room drinking Sake.
Kagaya: I see. Before my other children come I wanted to ask if you'd like to become a hashira. With your sister's passing. We need someone to replace her. As her tsugoku, you're the best choice.
Shinobu: I'm honored that you offered this opportunity to me, Okayata-sama. But what about kyojuro-San? He's been a demon slayer longer than me and he's a better slayer.
Kagaya: *smile* you're just like y/n and kanae. I'm sure kyojuro would like to become the next flame hashira, not the insect hashira.
Shinobu: *blushes in embarrassment* then I'd be honored to become the next hashira.

Y/n POV.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
Kyojuro: may I enter?
Y/n just drank some more and ignored kyojuro.
Kyojuro came in.
Kyojuro: how are you feeling?
Y/n: not well...
Kyojuro was surprised that y/n didn't shout like his father.
*knock* *knock* knock*
Kyojuro: come in!
Shinobu came into the room.
Shinobu: rengoku-San? How nice of you to visit.
Kyojuro: ha ha ha! I had to visit my best friend!
Shinobu: *giggles* how nice. Well, I came to give you some news. I replaced my sister as hashira.
Y/n noticed how Shinobu acted friendlier and happier. Almost like how kanae did. He knew this was all an act though.
Kyojuro: that's great Shinobu-San! I haven't even become hashira.
Y/n: yeah, I'm proud of you Shinobu, congratulations.
Shinobu felt some actual happiness inside of her. This was the first time since kanae died that she actually felt happy.
Shinobu: thank you. Y/n, there will be a hashira meeting later. Will you come? Okayata-Sama told me that your crow hasn't reported in a while.
Y/n: no, sorry I won't be. My crow has been keeping me company.
Shinobu: I'll be sure to inform okayata-Sama.
She left the room.
Kyojuro: I have a mission so I have to go. I'll visit you after, y/n!
He left the room too.
Y/n began petting his crow while staring at the picture of kanae.
Short chapter because this is the end of this part. Next chapter we will start with the demon slayer story.
