TW: Physical Abuse, Gore (Detailed), Bullying
The nightmare started off the same. With the darkness, my eyes were covered but I could see the intense fog around me as a pain was shot down my back like I was being stabbed by a sharp blade, it always broke skin and I couldn't scream. I sat there in pain, wondering when it would end trying to stay still because I learned the more I struggled, the tighter the grip around me would get. I've had the same dream since I was six years old, and each time I woke up with a burning pain on my back. The doctors just said it was my imagination, but my fathers never believed that.My dream was interrupted, "Ivary, honey it's time to get up!! We have to go in 45 minutes!! Hurry, now!!" I heard my father, Todd yell from outside knocking on the door loud enough to wake me up. I groaned, having missed my beeping alarm. I hit it, quickly rubbing my eyes and planting my feet on the bedroom floor. Before I stood up, I heard my father say "Don't forget your cane, kiddo we don't need you running into something and getting more bruises." I sighed, nodding, reaching for my bedpost so I didn't trip automatically with the shit all over my room. I tumbled under my own foot, catching myself before I fell
I sighed, getting to my closet throwing on an outfit, grabbing my pocket knife and swiz army knife from my dresser. I grabbed my doc martens and my cane, finding my way to the door opening it yawning tiredly. I knew my hair was a mess, but I really didn't care. This was my first ever day of public school. Dad and father said it was because I was blind, and most people in Nockfell didn't know how to react to someone as 'special' as me. I knew they were just trying to keep me away from people, but I really didn't care. I sat down at the table, humming softly listening to my dads rustling in the kitchen. He always made a mess, but the smell and taste of his food was worth it.
I heard his footsteps coming closer, and glass clinging. "Eat up, you have a long day ahead hun." I nodded, feeling a warm hand on my shoulder, it was my dad. "Have a good day, okay? Tell us how it goes, I know Todd here has been crying about you growing up since last week." He chuckled, I smiled and nodded. Neil and Todd, my dad and my father were always my biggest supporters. I picked up my fork, and started to eat as fast as I could. I wanted to be at the new school early, my dad kissed me on the head and left for work.
"You still have time, kiddo." I heard my father say, amused. I shrugged, "I want to be there early, I need to go to the office first anyways." He nodded, and I drank what my father gave me. Orange juice, it smelled fresh and tangy. Sweet, but then hinted with a bit of sourness. "I'm ready to go." I stated simply, getting up grabbing my cane and my bag.
"Alright, kiddo." My father said. I could hear his voice crack slightly, but I didn't say anything about it. He held my arm gently, taking me out of the house as I walked with my cane. He helped me into the car, and I buckled my seat-belt. I hummed to the radio, which my dad had on popular tunes. I tapped on my cane to the beat, and laid my head on the window. The first day was just a few moments away
*Slight Time Skip, Reached Nockfell High School*
We reached the school, and I got out. One foot out of the car, and then the other. I grabbed my cane, and my bag and waved goodbye to my father. "Try to have a first day of school, Iv... I love you." He said, I nodded, "I'll try, pops- try not to worry too much." I teased, before closing the door waiting for the car to leave before I navigated my way to the door of the school. I heard all sorts of talking, and I sighed taking out my phone. My dad had saved a map of the school to my phone, "Take a left" my phone said through my headphones, and I followed it's instructions with my cane in front of me and let the phone guide me to the door to the office.
"Yes?" I heard the receptionist lady say, impatiently. I sighed, "I'm new here, I'm here to get my schedule and locker number." I heard her tapping her fingers on the table, "Name." I cringed at that one word, "Ivary, Ivary Morrison..." I said, trying not to show my discomfort. She clicked her tongue, and got to typing on her keyboard. I waited, uncomfortably zipping up my hoodie to hide my aching discomfort of the name that just slipped from my tongue.
