Chapter 9

JAKE'S POV
David had sat back down after giving me a kiss on my forehead, he noticed I was still blushing even after 10 minutes. When I looked up at him, he winked at me AGAIN! I covered my face with my hands, David was kind of cute.. I'll try not to think about it too much. I realized that everything was going dark, I hadn't noticed that it was time for a trial. When I could see, I saw that it was the Eyrie of Crows. I was next to Leon, we went to a generator and we were halfway done with it. Leon had gotten off the generator and went into a locker, was the killer coming? What was he doing? He then came back out with something in his hand, "What's that?" I haven't seen him with one of those before. "If I throw it down in time, it'll blind the killer. Only downside, if I stand too close, it'll blind me as well." It sounded like a good idea. "Good luck in using it, some killers really don't fall for it after a while." I sighed. "What was up with what happened at the campfire? I thought you liked Michael not David." I was surprised when I heard him say that.
      "WHAT?!" I tried to stay quiet after that, "I do NOT like Michael! He's just really sweet and nice and he does a lot of nice things for me and..." I started trailing off about how good Michael was. "Jake, do you hear yourself? You're talking about how much you like being friends with Michael, and it sounds like you had a few "more than friends" moments with him." I snapped back to reality, "Maybe you're right, I probably only blushed when David kissed me because it was so unexpected... I don't know..." I didn't focus on anything else, just the generator, I heard something behind me and I thought it was the killer before I felt myself being pulled into a hug from behind. "Hey, Jake!" It was David, "David, do you know who the killer is? I'm trying to stay close to Leon incase the killer finds me." David side eyed Leon. "You can just stay close to me, I can help you if something goes wrong." Leon sighed "You aren't the only helpful person on this team, you know that right?"
"Of course I know that, but what are you going to do with a temporary flashlight huh?" David rolled his eyes and looked back to me. "Jake, the killer was that one guy with the white mask and blue jumpsuit, whatever his name is. I saw him stalking Claudette across the map." Leon looked up and looked at me, David wasn't aware that he was looking at me. Leon tilt his head to the side, basically pointing at the door with his head, telling me that I should go and say hi to Michael. "David, listen, I'm going to go and see where the killer is currently." I started walking out before he grabbed my hand, "could I come with you?" I looked at Leon and he shook his head that I shouldn't let them see each other. I nodded and let David come with me anyways, Leon sighed. We walked around for a bit till we saw Michael, "David, stay behind this rock, I'm gonna approach him." he grabbed my hand and pulled me back, "What if something happens to you?"
"Nothing will happen to me I promise." I let go of his hand and I ran up to Michael and jumped on his back. "Michael!" I got off of his back and I hugged him, he hugged me back. Michael slightly lifted his mask, picked me up and gave me a kiss on my cheek, and then put me down and pulled his mask back down. I stared at him in shock. I glanced at David and he looked incredibly angry, when I looked back at Michael, I could feel my face heating up. "Michael.. did you just- I- wh-" I couldn't even speak from how surprised I was. I can't say I didn't like it though. "Michael, lift up your mask again for me." I said with a grin. He lifted up his mask, "Can you kneel down for me, I have to tell you a secret in your ear." he kneeled down to my level. I smirked at him and gave him a quick kiss on the lips, "I'll see you in a bit Michael!" I smiled at him before going to where David was. When I saw him, David was livid. "Jake. WHY DID YOU KISS HIM?!" he yelled at me.
"It's none of your business, David. What I want to do with my friends is none of your business." I snapped at him. "Do you like him or something?!" I didn't know what I felt towards Michael.. but it felt different than just any friendship. "I don't know, David. I don't know if I like him or not, but he's special to me. And you are too, but you're making it difficult for everyone around me." He looked angry after I said that, I didn't care, I just walked away. When we were arguing, I didn't notice that Claudette was dead. I walked around "Michael!" I called out his name and I didn't hear anything till I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and I saw Michael, "Hey, Michael!" he held out his arms for a hug. I ran to him and gave him a tight hug, I didn't notice that he lifted his mask. When I looked up at him, he kissed my forehead, both of my cheeks, and my lips. He was basically kissing my entire face.
      When he stopped, I couldn't help but smile. I couldn't help but glance at his lips a few times, he noticed after the first few times I looked. He pulled me in slightly closer, and gave me another kiss. Except longer, and more romantic. I didn't wanna let go, I could feel my heart flutter. I pulled away from Michael, "I'm going to go find Leon now, I'll be back though" I didn't wanna leave him but I knew that if Leon was somewhere, David was probably arguing with him. I saw Leon, and not to my surprise, David was yelling about how he saw Michael and I kiss. Leon looked like he didn't care, like he didn't want to hear about it. David spotted me, he looked angry and he quickly started running up to me. Leon noticed what was going on and ran behind David and quickly threw the flash grenade. David covered his eyes and stopped, Leon grabbed me while he was distracted and we hid behind a rock. "Listen to me, I saw you and Michael kissing, and you two are adorable. But we need to find a way to have David leave you alone." As soon as he said that, the exit gate was opened. We snuck as best as we could to the gate, but David saw us, Leon tackled David and he told me to run.
      I ran to the other gate, I saw Michael sitting near it. "Michael! David's really angry at me and I need you to help me hide!" Michael nodded and got up, he held my hand and took me behind a fairly big rock. I sat in between his legs, I was breathing hard from running when Leon told me to. Michael put his hand over my mouth, and I couldn't help but breathe hard into his hand.
