There were truly no words to describe how you felt in that moment.
Shocked, confused, lost.
Not a single word could capture the emotions that were coming at you all at once.
Has Lucius known this whole time? Why didn't he tell me first? Are they trying to hide this from me? What don't I know? Where is Jameson?
"Alfie... I don't understand. Lucius is the one that found him?"
"No miss... he asked people to find him," Alfie explained carefully. "Just like how he has people trying to find your parents still. Maybe he wanted to surprise you with Jameson's arrival!" he added nervously at the end, trying to hide the truth about the whole matter.
"But Jameson was in America, how could he have been easier to find than my parents?" you questioned, the whole situation leaving a bad taste in your mouth.
"I think you need to talk to Lucius, miss. Don't tell him you found out from me, please."
"I won't, I promise," you reassured him, but you honestly didn't even know if you wanted to see Lucius.
It felt too secretive, all a bit too...odd. You weren't even sure how Lucius knew about Jameson as the only people you'd really mentioned trying to find were your parents.
You thanked Alfie and you were then left alone with your thoughts.
You should've been ecstatic to see your brother and to hear about how he'd been. But there were many questions you still had that were starting to consume you. You weren't even sure if you could really trust Lucius.
You then wondered if Jameson would be allowed to come to the manor at all. What he would think of it, the fact that you had been living here with Draco. He didn't even know yet about Lucius.
You locked yourself in your bedroom, a queasiness growing in your stomach as you tried to determine what to do. It felt like the world was caving in around you, threatening to swallow you whole.
The soft mattress and expensive linens would not be able to whisk you away from reality this time. Lucius had found your brother and had not spoken a word of it to you.
It was more than alarming, it was showing you a different side to Lucius more secretive and cunning than you imagined.
You were furious at yourself for getting so swept up in his romantic nature, his ability to make you feel so special. You were naive, and foolish. You had caved to his ways so easily, ignoring who he truly was inside. Perhaps there was a piece of you that wanted to rush to his bedroom this instant demanding the truth, and scream at him for keeping this a secret from you.
But alas, you would hold your tongue.
Whatever the truth may be, you would have none of it for that day. Alfie informed Lucius that you would be staying in your room for the night and Lucius believed it to be his fault from the earlier occurrence.
He felt rather guilty nonetheless, wondering how he could fix things and mend your fragile relationship. Lucius in no way accepted that this was an end to things, not in the slightest.
He would give you time if that is what you needed.
And you did need time. As much as possible to shuffle through your thoughts, trying to arrive at a relatively peaceful state over Jameson being located. You truthfully didn't want to see Lucius, nor Draco during this time.
After a few days of peace and quiet, you finally decided to leave your bedroom. You had come to a certain acceptance stage of the situation with Jameson and knew you would inevitably have to talk to Lucius about it eventually. Your servants had been ever so worried about you again, once more afraid that this manor was doing you more harm than good.
