Your face hurt by the end of the night from the forced smile you had to put on for all the wizards. You were grateful Draco pulled you aside when he did, otherwise you were sure you would've lost your patience long ago.

As Lucius had insinuated, you kept your mouth shut the rest of the night and endured the unpleasant stares and looks you got. You couldn't tell if they were looks of pity, or judgement. Or just pure confusion as to why you were of such importance to the Malfoys.

You frankly couldn't grasp that fact yourself. It was just as puzzling to you as it was to them, with so many unanswered questions to top it off.

It was tempting to want to want to ask Lucius again about your parents tonight, but your servants had advised against it. If they thought Lucius was already in an unpleasant mood, then you surely didn't want to upset him anymore. And the tone he got when he was unhappy was quite terrifying...

However, there was a desperate desire for him to tear the beautiful dress off of you. The thoughts wouldn't stop, despite how much you wish they would. But just as uneasy as he'd made you when he snapped earlier, there was an equally intense feeling of want and need, that was clawing its way out of you.

After all, he'd done this just for you. Gathering everyone here, buying you the lavish outfit, the dinner, and all the servants.

It was a horrible feeling, knowing that you felt this way about a married man. Despite his wife not being around, the worst part of all was that he was Draco's father.

And you found yourself caring for Draco much more these days then you cared to admit.

You truthfully knew what you had to do though.

You would continue to shove and push those feelings towards Lucius down inside you. Burying them so deeply, that they wouldn't try and escape again. No matter the attention he gave you, or flattery. Or the absolute undeniable pull there was towards him.

It was wrong.

After much commotion and drawn out exits from some of the tipsier wizards, you were finally able to see Draco. He had been patiently waiting for you all evening after making an early departure after dinner was over.

Not that anyone paid much attention. Except for you, of course.

You tentatively knocked on his door and he was already hovering nearby to open it.

"Hey," he said casually, still dressed in his all-black attire.

"Hi. Can I come in?" you asked.

He opened the door up wider, and you picked your dress up slightly to not trip over it as you walked into his room. You could feel his eyes watching your every move, despite not facing him.

"So, you made it through tonight," he said crossing his arms across his chest. "I'm impressed. I thought you would enjoy tormenting my father the rest of the night after how he degraded you but instead you abided by his rules."

You shifted awkwardly from foot to foot, feeling interrogated.

"I wouldn't call them rules. He asked me to stop intervening and I did. After everything he did to put this together tonight, I figured I could do that for him."

Draco laughed dryly. "You're not as brave as I thought you were then. You can admit it to me, you were too scared to do anything weren't you?"

"Perhaps. Your father isn't exactly the nicest man."
