I wanted to try to characterize all the precepts before I write this new story so that's exactly what I'm gonna do!

KENDOU   RAPPA

Ok, so rappa isn't a hard character to nail down, he's one of the actually fleshed out characters in the arc (as well a horikoshi fleshed out any of them-) we know exactly how he acts:

-he has pride and an ego about being strong

-his only reasoning for being in the shie hassaikai is because he wants to fight overhaul to the death but loses every time

-he seems to value honor as seen when he wouldn't fight kirishima when injured and can realise pontential

-he isn't exactly the most loyal to overhaul and is annoyed by tengai when he prevents him from fighting

So based on all this i see rappa as a strong individual. I headcanon that he was from controlling parents and he used street fighting as an escape. He would eventually find a mentor in the underworld.

His mentor would teach him about the honor of fighting to death. He would train for years to get incredibly strong, he'd never fight anyone with weapons or when they are already injured. Only hand to hand to make it fair

His mentor would eventually die and as a result he would become the greatest fighter in the underground masquerade. When overhaul fights him it was just a fight to blow off steam, but when rappa loses because of Chisaki's quirk he refuses

He refuses and joins the shie hassaikai for the sole purpose of defeating overhaul, to make his mentor proud of him that he will die a  proper death; in a fight to the death
