Yoongi's POV

With the engine still rumbling and the stairs moved to the exit door of the plane, Jin and I hurry out of the jet after thanking the two pilots and the flight attendant who accommodated to our last minute hurriedness without so much as a complaint, then rush to get in the car awaiting us while the driver puts our luggage in the trunk.

We're so close now. So, so close.

I observe the driver from the window as they come back to sit inside the car, a short nod to us before they focus on getting the GPS ready with our soulmate's address. We'd received her message while we were way high up in the clouds, and we'd sent it to our driver in advance.

My mind wanders to Y/N in the meantime, to her soul, to the softness we get from it, the lull of sleep heavy around her. Did she fall asleep? That would be good. She's been through enough in such a short amount of time and deserves a moment of peace, no matter how short it is.

Soon, the car departs from the airport and I sigh in relief, eyes shut a moment to calm myself. I'm so nervous that I can barely sit still, I would run to her if I could, no matter how exhausting, I would do it for her.

It took a little longer than an hour to get here by jet, a time record since the air traffic was relatively close to none. By the time we reach her place after stopping by a store to buy what's necessary to make her some rice porridge, per Jin's idea, two hours will have easily gone by.

While it's not a lot considering that we literally flew over a part of the ocean to get to her, it's still too long when a soulmate is ill.

Jin settles a hand over my thigh and squeezes it softly to get my attention, and only when my eyes are opened and on him does he speak up, his gaze understanding as he gives me a small and tired smile.

"I know it's not easy to stay calm when we can feel the pull of her soul with so much strength, Yoongi-ah, but we have to try. I don't want us to affect her dreams negatively, she was already scared about us traveling and I don't want her to get nightmares about it".

I sigh and rest my head on his shoulder, fingers linking with his own as we drive past the busy airport building to reach the road that will lead us to her town.

We're apparently less than twenty minutes away from Emberdrift. In the opposite direction, we would be heading to Oakbank, which is a city with a very different aesthetic. The City of the Sea versus the Town of Fire, it sounds like they both come out of a novel.

I wonder if we could visit the city together once Y/N feels better, would she like that? She probably already visited the surrounding town and cities, but Jin and I haven't. Would she mind?

"Yeah, you're right. I'll try to keep my nerves from reaching her, but I'll feel better only once I've seen her with my own eyes. I'm still feeling uneasy from her panic attack, I hate being so far away from her".

Jin rests his head on top of mine and squeezes my fingers tightly. "I know. We're nearly there, just a little bit longer and we'll be by her side. After all these years of waiting for something to happen, for her voice to finally breach the silence, I can hardly believe that it's happening. I keep fearing that this might all be but a dream upon waking up, it terrifies me".

I bring my gaze to the warm orange and red trees that spread in the horizon in front of us. We can see from here that the town is in one huge hilly area. With the mountains that climb tall in the sky in the distance, the sight is absolutely gorgeous, even more impressive than in pictures. They don't do this place justice at all.
