The dance ended and a majority of the floor cleared out. People tugging on their ties and the pulling out their fans.

Y'shtera kept her eyes on her target, watching for an opening.

Being always glued to his fiancé, really was problematic. If he could just walk away to the restroom or outside for a smoke this would make it easier.

Every here and there Y'shtera's eyes would be drawn away from the lord to a flurry of movement. A long black cape moving through the crowd like a ghost. While her eyes were drawn to the last location of the girl, Emeline and Lord Nox exited the dance floor and up the stairs.

She watched them walk through the clouble doors at the top, quickly losing sight of them.

She finished her glass and crept towards the staircase through the mess of people. She ignored the possibility of being caught, and climbed the stairs to the top. She glanced over the banister, looking for the girl, missing the shaded blue eyes honing in on her from below.

Y'shtera pushed open the door a little and slid through. She glanced around, noting the many other doors and not knowing which one they went through. She cursed herself for not asking for any blueprints.

However, she was in luck. A loud voice came from one of the doors. A mans angry voice boomed. Y'sh crept closer, getting close enough to hear.

"You're bankrupt and didn't bother telling me!" The man's voice yelled, a miracle the guests couldn't hear.

" I thought things would get better! " A girl said quietly, soft sobs breaking her speech.

"Things like that don't just get better! You're so naive, Emeline!." His voice quieted, but his tone went as sharp as a dagger. Emeline gasped audibly, followed by another broken sob.

"Did we- Did you only marry me for the dowry?" emeline asked, barely audible.

"Why else would I agree to be married! I'd honestly rather party!". What she guess was Lord Nox, spat viciously.

Y'shtera ears twitched as she heard loud footsteps moving around the room and slowly getting louder. She glanced around the hall, noting the tall plants on either sides of the doors and the way the doors were slightly arched in. She walked as fast as she could to the next room down the hall and ducking behind it just as the door to the room opened with a slam.

To her surprise, Emeline ran out first. Clutching the tailend of her soft blue dress in her one hand and rubbing at her face furiosly with the other. Emeline ran a little further up the hall and disappeared into another room with another loud slam of the door hitting the wall. Y'shtera peeked around the corner, looking for Lord Nox. Even after the door closed, she waited a minute to see is Lord Noxx would exit. But he didn't

She hesitantly drew out of the corner and crept closer to the door. She heard nothing for a little, but then a deep sigh came form the room. Y'shtera's ears twitched, focusing on listening. A cork popped and a drink fizzed as it slid into a glass.

She pulled the door open a little, praying for it not to creak. Maybe her god was listening to her, because it didn't. She peeked into the room from the small crack to learn where he stood and the room layout

It was a bedroom. With a large four-poster bed pushed up against the middle of the left wall, decorated in soft green sheets. A nightstand on either side, both decorated with pictures and small trinkets. A large glass door lead to a balcony straight across from the door. On the other wall was a couple of large wardrobes on either side of a long table. A couple of plush chairs and a short coffee table, ontop of a matching fuzzy green mat, stood in the middle of the room. Lord Nox stood, back turned to Y'sh, at the long table, decorated with an assortment of spirits.

He took a long sip, downing the tall glass of wine. And going for another.

Y'shtera took this opportunity, opening the door a little more. Deciding it was safe, she pushed it open just enough for her to slip through, leaving it open, and crept into the room. She crouched behind the chair and reached down for the knife on her thigh. She slide it out of it's sheath silently and glanced at the door once more.

She stalked up to Lord Nox, and stood directly behind him. From her angle at the door, she hadn't noticed the slim mirror right above the table. Lord Nox glanced up and saw the edge of Y'sh's cape behind him.

He whirled around and attempted to hit her over the head with his glass. She ducked out of the way easily and aligned her knife with the core of his throat. Lord Nox reached for something on the table; a bottle, a glass, anything he could get his hands on. But Y'sh removed her knife from in front of this throat and brought it down over his hand, stabbing it and pinning his right hand against the table.

A loud, high-pitched scream of pain came out and he turned to glance at his right hand with a knife sticking out of it. Y'sh dug the knife in more, eliciting another scream, before yanking it out violently. She leveled her blade with an artery in his neck, an attempted to end it right then and there.

The door slammed opened and then Y'sh was pinned to the floor. Her blade scratched across the bright Marble flooring as it flew from her grasp. The girl from before held a knife above Y'sh and slammed it down.Being unable to move, the most Y'sh could do was wiggle the knife away from anything vital. The knife lodged itself into her right shoulder, and her own scream rang through the room.

Y'sh pushed the girl with her hand, trying to knock the girl off. Y'sh threw her knee up, causing the girl to wobble off. The girl grabbed her ankle, attempting to stop her, but Y'sh used that to her advantage. Pushing herself up and swinging around, dislocating her joints and kicking the girl in a spin. The girl coughed violently, dropping Y'shtera's ankle.

Y'sh jumped upright and dislodged the knife from her shoulder, a mistake. She dashed to the Lord, with her knife poised to kill. But the girl had recovered enough to move and tackled Y'shtera once more.

Y'shtera headbutted the girl, giving her time to move again. Making another attempt at assassinating the Lord, she sprinted to him again with no wavering intention. She curved her arm around, going for the throat and went for the stab.

But she hit someone else

The girl appeared in front of him a moment before, throwing her left arm up to take the hit. Y'sh's eyes flew open, realizing both her own knife and the girls were not in the right places.

"Mavin!" The Lord screamed, yet barely sounding worried. The girl, Mavin, stumbled back a little. Y'sh grabbed the Lord's head and slammed it into the table. Breaking a couple glasses and bottles effectively causing him to slump to the floor, unconscious.

Y'sh herself stumbled back, a reminder of the knife she'd pulled out of her shoulder and the blood she was losing. The girl was shaking off the pain in her arm and was coming back to her senses.

She wouldn't be able to finish the job tonight without the possiblility of killing herself. She left the girl be, making a break for the balcony.

Loud sounds filled the corridor, and the guards surrounded the door. The Drapes on either side flow viciously in the strong midnight breeze, but she doubled back, almost forgetting her knife.

She ducked to the left wall, panting heavily and feeling whoozy. The door slammed against the wall and the guards ran in, seeing the Lord and Mavin in their states and no assailant.

Y'sh looked around for a way out, a rush of anxiety filled in with the pain as she realized how high she was with no secure way down. But why would there be? She had no choice but to risk it and lowered herself over the railing, aiming to fall into the brush beneath.

Successfully landing with a way to loud hiss of pain.

She sprinted as fast as she could, ignoring her slipped off hood. She was losing quite a bit of blood and she felt close to fainting. But she was not willing to be captured.
