Ray x Norman Noray The Promised Neverland

Gracefield

It's another ordinary day in Gracefield. Our home, a place for kids without parents. None of us are related but we all love and care for one another. Mother watches over us all and ensures we're all well taken care of. We're happy here, and enjoy our lives. What more could we want? Lots of other kids to play with, a huge yard perfect for playing tag. And a loveing mother who would do anything for her kids......

The crisp air was beginning to get cooler as fall approached. And the leaves had began to change from bright green,to an array of orange,yellow,and brown. Kids played in the distance as their voices echoed threw the forest. "Ray!" My freind Emma said, rushing over to me. The tips of her oranged hair bounceing in the wind. "We need you to play tag with us! We need you to help Don find the rest of us, that inclues Norman, who none of us have been able to find!" I closed the book I had been reading and sighed,"One game, that's it. Okay?" Emma beamed happily,"Huray! I'll go tell the others." Emma ran off while I followed behind sheepishly.

"Don! Ray agree to be it with you." Don smiled,"Alright! This is going to be easy with Ray helping me. Okay everyone, start hideing!" I closed my eyes and began to count with Don. "Here we come!" Don called runing into the forest. I went the other way, knowing I would find some of the smaller kids hideing in the bushes.

A few minutes latter

I found Phil,Anna,and some of the littler kids hideing in the bushes like I thought. Phil was disappointment to be found,but he was happy he gave it his best shot. Phil's just like Emma,always looking on the positive side of things. 

Phil wanted to help me find the others but I told him him that wouldn't be fair and that he should go play with the others. Don found Nat hiding in some of the taller trees. Me and Don split up again,and I decided to find Gilda since Don was trying to find Emma.

A few minute time skip

I've looked I'm all the places we're I normally found Gilda but she wasn't there. I suddenly saw a bit of white sticking out from behind a tall bush. I got closer and saw it was Emma. She had her back faces twards me and was cautiously peaking out from behind the bush. She didn't see me as I got closer,and taped her on her shoulder. She shrieked and quickly back away. "Ray! Don't scare me like that!" I shrugged my shoulders,"My bad." Emma of course just laughed at my sarcasm. "Did you or Don find
Norman yet?" "You know he's always the last one to be found." "I know,I'm just cheaking." Emma Said with a goofy smile. I rolled my eyes at her childish behavior,but secretly found it fun as well how no one could find Norman. He has the weakest physical strength out of most of the kids here. But he knew all the best tactics and always had a good strategy,depending on who was it for the game. Me and Emma are the only ones whose even come close to finding him,we've even managed to a few times. Mostly because we know Norman the best out of all the other kids here. But Norman still manages to surprise us now and then. Know matter how well you know Norman,his mind will always be left a mystery.

"I've been trying to find Gilda. Normally she's a piece of cake to find. But today it's different." I explain to Emma as we walked away from the bush. "Oh,that's right! It's Gilda's turn to help mom prepare dinner." Emma said rubbing the back of her head awkwardly. "Well that's would of been nice to know. Otherwise I wouldn't have wasted my time." "Ray!" "What?" Emma sighed,"Never mind,I'm gonna go find Phil. You should try and find Norman,I'm sure he's hideing in one of the trees near the left side of the house!" I noded,"Sure,I'll cheak it out." Emma smiled,and ran off to find Phil and the others back at the house.

Little did Emma know I wouldn't be searching the trees. Knowing Norman,he doesn't like to climb trees offten. Which is why it would be the perfect stop for him to hide. But Norman already knew that,so he decided to hide in an obvious stop. Somewere we wouldn't think to check,because it's a stop that's to obvious for Norman. So that's exactly where he hid.

Instead of going to trees on the left sied of the house,like Emma suggested,I went to the right sied of the house we're boulders and large rocks layed scattered around.

I look around the yard but didn't directly start checking behind the rocks. Incase Norman could see me,because then he could sneak away while I'm busy checking. I walked quietly but swiftly as to not alert him. I saw a bunch of rocks clusterd together that formed into a biger rock. The rock big enough to hold someone behind it and had a round ish shape. Unlike the other rocks wich were smaller a jaged.

I walked up to rock and looked behind it,and just as I suspected Norman was there. He gave me a small smile and laughed. "Of course you found me Ray." I smiled back a bit,"I usually do,don't I?" I helped Norman up but he didn't let go of my hand. "That's right,but I was hoping Don would be the one find me. Would of made the game more exciting." I noded,"Well if it makes a difference,he found most of the other kids." Norman gave me a side ways glance,"You sure you didn't just let him?" I faked an offended look,"Are you doubting Don's skills?" Norman laughed and I couldn't help but smile. "Of course not. Don has a strong spirit and isn't one to give up,it's one of his best qualities. Much like Emma,but tends to become angry when results don't end up the way he hopes." Norman has always been intuitive and always saw people's best qualities. I wounder what Norman thinks about me.....? I don't think I have any amazing qualities worth noticing. But If I could see myself threw Norman's eyes then perhaps I would see something that wasn't disappointing or dull......

Norman stared a me for a bit before speaking softly. "Something wrong Ray?" I shoke my head,"Nope. Just thinking about how Don would react knowing how highly you think of him." Suddenly me and Norman bust of laughing. Something I don't do offiten,but it felt okay  becuase Norman was there. I looked down at out hands but was scared Norman would notice so I looked away. But I felt Norman tighten his grip just a bit on my hand. I was surprised but happy.

And I knew this was okay. I felt okay.
