Chapter 5 - Tomorrow Is Another Day

Elliot's POV

Going through that portal was probably the best and worst idea I've ever possibly had.

Sure it felt like I was in a really cool dream and it was fully made of stars, rainbows and unicorns, basically everything that screams "happy".

But at the same time, my stomach was NOT having it at all! I felt like I wanted to puke about 30 times already, how do people in sci-fi movies do these things!? Well I mean- I know it's fake, but just imagine...

The train wreck of a ride finally ended with all of us, and by all of us, I mean me, Tristan and Bianca. The both of them are from a completely different universe, seriously, I've never met them before-. We all found each other when I went through some kind of portal and ended up in their world.

All of us are now going to another world however, since their world was basically corrupted and took over by pibbified monsters that had no sense if shame in killing the living and making them apart of the dark side, especially to people you cared about, that's just cruel...

Anyways, sad moment aside, back to the main part.

The rollercoaster had ended with me falling flat on my face into the road, like life couldn't punch me in the face way more than it already has, god this was getting annoying.

I get up from the ground, stumbling and struggling to lift myself up since my whole body was in complete pain, but I'm sure I could shake it off, I'm a superhero after all! Superheroes treat this type of pain like it's a scrape on the knee!

I look back to see if the other two had fallen along with me, looking at the both of them, it seemed like they had the same fate as me when they were falling out of the portal, and unlike me, the pain had hit them a lot more harder. But seeing them try to get up and hold each other to stay standing, they seemed like they were kind of used to this pain.

I wonder what they used to do in their world..?

"You guys okay?" I go up to the both of them, having my hands ready to heal if they ever had any sort of bruises.

"Yeah...Yeah we're okay...right Bianca?" Tristan says, turning to Bianca waiting for an answer. Bianca nods, agreeing with Tristan's statement.

"Right. So, where should we explore first..?" Bianca says, looking around at all the destruction around them. It seemed like the whole entire city was long gone, I'm not sure if we're even gonna meet any survivors, we're definitely going to get hit left and right with pibbified monsters that's for sure, so we'll have to be careful.

I look over and notice a gigantic sign was was broken in half, the top part lying in the grass, covered with corrupted muck. The grass was almost turning a light grey, this world was already way more gloomy than whatever it was before.

I walk slowly up to the sign, getting a closer look, I was able to see some words that were imprinted onto the metal sign, it looked sort of like a welcoming sign into the city, well, what used to be a city.

I try to make out what was left of the sign without trying to touch any of the black mess that was hovering and covering about 3/4 of the entire thing. The only letters I ever got were:

"Rricane, Ut"

What kind of city name was that?

Well obviously the rest of the letters were blocked off, but this seemed like a weirdly named city. Who comes up with names for cities anyways? Is it like a debate or something?
